其中二人轉身向所多瑪走去，亞伯拉罕卻仍舊站在耶和華面前。

那兩個天使在黃昏的時候來到所多瑪，羅得正坐在城門口，看見他們，便起來迎接，俯伏在地上說：

耶和華的天使向那婦人顯現，對她說：「你雖然多年不育，但不久你必懷孕生一個兒子。

自己獨自留下。這時，有一個人來和他摔跤，直到黎明。

亞伯拉罕就向他們下拜，說：

約書亞走近耶利哥，舉目看見一個人手裡拿著拔出來的劍站在他面前。約書亞上前去問道：「你是來幫助我們的，還是來幫助我們敵人的？」

那三個人就起身朝所多瑪眺望，亞伯拉罕與他們同行，要送他們一程。

猶大和他兄弟們回到約瑟家時，約瑟還在那裡，他們就俯伏在他面前。

他們回答說：「你僕人——我們的父親仍然健在、安康。」說完了，又向他下拜。

約瑟來了，他們就把帶來的禮物獻給他，向他俯伏下拜。

婦人就去對丈夫說：「有一位上帝的僕人向我顯現，他的容貌像上帝的天使，非常可畏。我沒有問他從哪裡來，他也沒有把名字告訴我。他對我說，『你必懷孕生一個兒子，所以不可喝淡酒和烈酒，不可吃不潔之物，因為孩子一出生就要獻給耶和華，終生做拿細耳人。』」瑪挪亞向耶和華祈求說：「主啊，求你再派你的僕人到這裡來，教我們怎樣照顧要出生的孩子。」上帝應允了他的祈求。他妻子正坐在田間的時候，上帝的天使再次向她顯現。當時她丈夫瑪挪亞不在場。她趕忙跑去告訴她丈夫說：「那天來的那人又向我顯現了。」瑪挪亞立刻跟隨妻子來到那人面前，問他：「那天跟我妻子說話的就是你嗎？」他答道：「是我。」

他自己則走在他們前面，接連俯伏下拜七次，直到他哥哥跟前。以掃見到雅各，就跑上去擁抱他，親吻他，二人抱頭痛哭。以掃看見跟在雅各後面的婦女和孩子，就問：「這些和你同行的是誰？」雅各說：「這些孩子是上帝施恩賜給你僕人的。」雅各的兩個婢女和她們的孩子上前下拜，利亞也和她的孩子上前下拜，最後約瑟和拉結也上前向以掃下拜。

路得就俯伏在地叩謝他，說：「我不過是個外族人，你為什麼這樣恩待我、體恤我？」

耶利哥的先知們從遠處看見他，就說：「以利亞的靈降在以利沙身上了。」他們就上前迎接，俯伏在他面前，

信徒有缺乏，要慷慨幫助；客人來訪，要熱誠款待。

要互相接待，不發怨言，
