而我的約，我要與以撒確立。這以撒，就是撒拉要在明年所定的時期為你生的兒子。」

約拿單對替他拿兵器的年輕人說：「走，我們過到未受割禮之人的守軍那裡吧！或許耶和華會為我們行事，因為無論人多人少，什麼也不能阻礙耶和華施行拯救。」

其中一位說：「明年這時候，我一定回到你這裡。看哪，你的妻子撒拉將會有一個兒子！」當時撒拉正在那人後面的帳篷入口聽著。

天使對他說：「撒迦利亞，不要怕，因為你的祈禱已蒙垂聽。你的妻子伊莉莎白要為你生一個兒子，你要給他起名叫約翰。

耶穌聽了，就對睚魯說：「不要怕，只要信！她就會得救治。」

耶穌立刻伸手拉住他，說：「小信的人哪，你為什麼疑惑呢？」

他將照著那能使萬有都服從他的力量，改變我們這卑賤的身體，要與他那榮耀的身體相似。

亞伯拉罕認為，神真的能使人從死人中復活。故此，用比喻來說，他真的從死人中得回了以撒。

你們不要心裡想『我們有亞伯拉罕為先祖。』我告訴你們：神能從這些石頭中給亞伯拉罕興起兒女來。

因為耶和華是偉大的神，是超越一切神明的偉大君王。

耶和華啊，這要等到什麼時候呢？求你回轉，憐憫你的僕人們！

撒迦利亞對天使說：「我憑著什麼能知道這事呢？我是個老人，我的妻子也上了年紀。」

耶和華作王，他以威嚴為衣；耶和華以威嚴為衣，以力量束腰；世界就被確立，不致動搖！
