The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day.

The Lord appeared to Abraham near the large trees of Mamre. Abraham was sitting at the entrance to his tent. It was the hottest time of the day.

And the Lord appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat at the door of his tent in the heat of the day.

So Abram moved his tent and went to live near the oaks of Mamre at Hebron, where he built an altar to the LORD.

One of the survivors came and told Abram the Hebrew, who lived near the oaks belonging to Mamre the Amorite, the brother of Eshcol and the brother of Aner. They were bound by a treaty with Abram.

Jacob said to Joseph,“ God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me.

When he finished talking with him, God withdrew from Abraham.

That night God appeared to Solomon and said to him,“ Ask. What should I give you?”

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him, saying,“ I am God Almighty. Live in my presence and be blameless.I will set up my covenant between me and you, and I will multiply you greatly.”Then Abram fell facedown and God spoke with him:

After these events, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield; your reward will be very great.

The LORD appeared to Abram and said,“ To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the LORD who had appeared to him.

Moses answered,“ What if they won’t believe me and will not obey me but say,‘ The LORD did not appear to you’?”
