I will confirm my covenant that is between me and you and your future offspring throughout their generations. It is a permanent covenant to be your God and the God of your offspring after you.

I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.

I will make my covenant with you last forever. It will be between me and you and your family after you for all time to come. I will be your God. And I will be the God of all your family after you.

And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you.

But they now desire a better place— a heavenly one. Therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.

On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying,“ I give this land to your offspring, from the Brook of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates River:

I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people.

For the promise is for you and for your children, and for all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

Neither is it the case that all of Abraham’s children are his descendants. On the contrary, your offspring will be traced through Isaac.That is, it is not the children by physical descent who are God’s children, but the children of the promise are considered to be the offspring.For this is the statement of the promise: At this time I will come, and Sarah will have a son.

I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

He has dealt mercifully with our ancestors and remembered his holy covenant—the oath that he swore to our father Abraham, to grant that we,having been rescued from the hand of our enemies, would serve him without fearin holiness and righteousness in his presence all our days.

They will live there securely, build houses, and plant vineyards. They will live securely when I execute judgments against all their neighbors who treat them with contempt. Then they will know that I am the LORD their God.’”

Then he continued,“ I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God.

They are Israelites, and to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the temple service, and the promises.

He remembers his covenant forever, the promise he ordained for a thousand generations—the covenant he made with Abraham, swore to Isaac,and confirmed to Jacob as a decree and to Israel as a permanent covenant:“ I will give the land of Canaan to you as your inherited portion.”

God also said to Moses,“ Say this to the Israelites: The LORD, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is my name forever; this is how I am to be remembered in every generation.

You will show loyalty to Jacob and faithful love to Abraham, as you swore to our ancestors from days long ago.

I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, the land they lived in as aliens.

He has helped his servant Israel, remembering his mercyto Abraham and his descendants forever, just as he spoke to our ancestors.

Now if you will carefully listen to me and keep my covenant, you will be my own possession out of all the peoples, although the whole earth is mine,and you will be my kingdom of priests and my holy nation.’ These are the words that you are to say to the Israelites.”

When Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them,“ Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.

Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say“ and to seeds,” as though referring to many, but referring to one, and to your seed, who is Christ.My point is this: The law, which came 430 years later, does not invalidate a covenant previously established by God and thus cancel the promise.

I am the LORD your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt. Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
