Abraham took Ishmael his son, all who were born in his house, and all who were bought with his money: every male among the men of Abraham’s house, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the same day, as God had said to him.

On that very day Abraham took his son Ishmael and all those born in his household or bought with his money, every male in his household, and circumcised them, as God told him.

On that same day Abraham circumcised his son Ishmael. He also circumcised every male who was born into his family or bought with his money. He did exactly as God had told him.

Paul wanted to have him go out with him, and he took and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those parts; for they all knew that his father was a Greek.

For in Christ Jesus neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.

All who went out of the gate of his city listened to Hamor, and to Shechem his son; and every male was circumcised, all who went out of the gate of his city.

Was anyone called having been circumcised? Let him not become uncircumcised. Has anyone been called in uncircumcision? Let him not be circumcised.Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

I will hurry, and not delay, to obey your commandments.

For circumcision indeed profits, if you are a doer of the law, but if you are a transgressor of the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.If therefore the uncircumcised keep the ordinances of the law, won’t his uncircumcision be accounted as circumcision?Won’t the uncircumcision which is by nature, if it fulfills the law, judge you, who with the letter and circumcision are a transgressor of the law?For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, neither is that circumcision which is outward in the flesh;but he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit not in the letter; whose praise is not from men, but from God.

This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you. Every male among you shall be circumcised.You shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin. It will be a token of the covenant between me and you.He who is eight days old will be circumcised among you, every male throughout your generations, he who is born in the house, or bought with money from any foreigner who is not of your offspring.He who is born in your house, and he who is bought with your money, must be circumcised. My covenant will be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.The uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that soul shall be cut off from his people. He has broken my covenant.”

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor plan, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, where you are going.

In the same day both Abraham and Ishmael, his son, were circumcised.All the men of his house, those born in the house, and those bought with money from a foreigner, were circumcised with him.

For I have known him, to the end that he may command his children and his household after him, that they may keep the way of Yahweh, to do righteousness and justice; to the end that Yahweh may bring on Abraham that which he has spoken of him.”

Don’t boast about tomorrow; for you don’t know what a day may bring.

Is this blessing then pronounced on the circumcised, or on the uncircumcised also? For we say that faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness.How then was it counted? When he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.He received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while he was in uncircumcision, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they might be in uncircumcision, that righteousness might also be accounted to them.He is the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had in uncircumcision.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision amounts to anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith working through love.

At that time, Yahweh said to Joshua,“ Make flint knives, and circumcise again the sons of Israel the second time.”Joshua made himself flint knives, and circumcised the sons of Israel at the hill of the foreskins.This is the reason Joshua circumcised them: all the people who came out of Egypt, who were males, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness along the way, after they came out of Egypt.For all the people who came out were circumcised; but all the people who were born in the wilderness along the way as they came out of Egypt had not been circumcised.For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness until all the nation, even the men of war who came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they didn’t listen to Yahweh’s voice. Yahweh swore to them that he wouldn’t let them see the land which Yahweh swore to their fathers that he would give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.Their children, whom he raised up in their place, were circumcised by Joshua, for they were uncircumcised, because they had not circumcised them on the way.When they were done circumcising the whole nation, they stayed in their places in the camp until they were healed.Yahweh said to Joshua,“ Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.” Therefore the name of that place was called Gilgal to this day.
