Then Abraham took his son Ishmael, and all the slaves who were born in his house and all who were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham’s household, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin on this very same day, as God had said to him.

是日、亞伯拉罕遵天主命、將子以實瑪利、及一切家中男子、或生於家者、或以銀所購者、皆為之行割禮、

On that very day Abraham took his son Ishmael and all those born in his household or bought with his money, every male in his household, and circumcised them, as God told him.

On that same day Abraham circumcised his son Ishmael. He also circumcised every male who was born into his family or bought with his money. He did exactly as God had told him.

Paul wanted this man to leave with him; and he took him and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those parts, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.

For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.

All who went out of the gate of his city listened to Hamor and to his son Shechem, and every male was circumcised, all who went out of the gate of his city.

Was any man called when he was already circumcised? He is not to become uncircumcised. Has anyone been called in uncircumcision? He is not to be circumcised.Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but what matters is the keeping of the commandments of God.

I hurried and did not delay To keep Your commandments.

For indeed circumcision is of value if you practice the Law; but if you are a violator of the Law, your circumcision has turned into uncircumcision.So if the uncircumcised man keeps the requirements of the Law, will his uncircumcision not be regarded as circumcision?And he who is physically uncircumcised, if he keeps the Law, will he not judge you who though having the letter of the Law and circumcision are a violator of the Law?For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh.But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from people, but from God.

This is My covenant, which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: every male among you shall be circumcised.And you shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin, and it shall be the sign of the covenant between Me and you.And every male among you who is eight days old shall be circumcised throughout your generations, including a slave who is born in the house or who is bought with money from any foreigner, who is not of your descendants.A slave who is born in your house or who is bought with your money shall certainly be circumcised; so My covenant shall be in your flesh as an everlasting covenant.But as for an uncircumcised male, one who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant.”

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no activity, planning, knowledge, or wisdom in Sheol where you are going.

On this very same day Abraham was circumcised, as well as his son Ishmael.And all the men of his household, those who were born in the house or bought with money from a foreigner, were circumcised with him.

For I have chosen him, so that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken about him.”

Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring.

Is this blessing then on the circumcised, or on the uncircumcised also? For we say,“ Faith was credited to Abraham as righteousness.”How then was it credited? While he was circumcised, or uncircumcised? Not while circumcised, but while uncircumcised;and he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while uncircumcised, so that he might be the father of all who believe without being circumcised, that righteousness might be credited to them,and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also follow in the steps of the faith of our father Abraham which he had while uncircumcised.

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love.

At that time the Lord said to Joshua,“ Make for yourself flint knives and circumcise again the sons of Israel the second time.”So Joshua made himself flint knives and circumcised the sons of Israel at Gibeath haaraloth.This is the reason why Joshua circumcised them: all the people who came out of Egypt who were males, all the men of war, died in the wilderness along the way after they came out of Egypt.For all the people who came out were circumcised, but all the people who were born in the wilderness along the way as they came out of Egypt had not been circumcised.For the sons of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, until all the nation, that is, the men of war who came out of Egypt, perished because they did not listen to the voice of the Lord, to whom the Lord had sworn that He would not let them see the land which the Lord had sworn to their fathers to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.So their children whom He raised up in their place, Joshua circumcised; for they were uncircumcised, because they had not circumcised them along the way.Now when they had finished circumcising all the nation, they remained in their places in the camp until they recovered.Then the Lord said to Joshua,“ Today I have rolled away the shame of Egypt from you.” So the name of that place is called Gilgal to this day.
