On that very day Abraham took his son Ishmael and all those born in his household or bought with his money, every male in his household, and circumcised them, as God told him.

保羅要帶他同去，只因那些地方的猶太人都知道他父親是希臘人，就給他行了割禮。

受割禮不受割禮都無關緊要，要緊的就是作新造的人。

凡從城門出入的人就都聽從哈抹和他兒子示劍的話；於是凡從城門出入的男丁都受了割禮。

有人已受割禮蒙召呢，就不要廢割禮；有人未受割禮蒙召呢，就不要受割禮。受割禮算不得甚麼，不受割禮也算不得甚麼，只要守神的誡命就是了。

我急忙遵守你的命令，並不遲延。

你若是行律法的，割禮固然於你有益；若是犯律法的，你的割禮就算不得割禮。所以那未受割禮的，若遵守律法的條例，他雖然未受割禮，豈不算是有割禮嗎？而且那本來未受割禮的，若能全守律法，豈不是要審判你這有儀文和割禮竟犯律法的人嗎？因為外面作猶太人的，不是真猶太人；外面肉身的割禮，也不是真割禮。惟有裏面作的，才是真猶太人；真割禮也是心裏的，在乎靈，不在乎儀文。這人的稱讚不是從人來的，乃是從神來的。

你們所有的男子都要受割禮；這就是我與你並你的後裔所立的約，是你們所當遵守的。你們都要受割禮；這是我與你們立約的證據。你們世世代代的男子，無論是家裏生的，是在你後裔之外用銀子從外人買的，生下來第八日，都要受割禮。你家裏生的和你用銀子買的，都必須受割禮。這樣，我的約就立在你們肉體上作永遠的約。但不受割禮的男子必從民中剪除，因他背了我的約。」

凡你手所當做的事要盡力去做；因為在你所必去的陰間沒有工作，沒有謀算，沒有知識，也沒有智慧。

正當那日，亞伯拉罕和他兒子以實瑪利一同受了割禮。家裏所有的人，無論是在家裏生的，是用銀子從外人買的，也都一同受了割禮。

我眷顧他，為要叫他吩咐他的眾子和他的眷屬遵守我的道，秉公行義，使我所應許亞伯拉罕的話都成就了。」

不要為明日自誇，因為一日要生何事，你尚且不能知道。

如此看來，這福是單加給那受割禮的人嗎？不也是加給那未受割禮的人嗎？因我們所說，亞伯拉罕的信，就算為他的義，是怎麼算的呢？是在他受割禮的時候呢？是在他未受割禮的時候呢？不是在受割禮的時候，乃是在未受割禮的時候。並且他受了割禮的記號，作他未受割禮的時候因信稱義的印證，叫他作一切未受割禮而信之人的父，使他們也算為義；又作受割禮之人的父，就是那些不但受割禮，並且按我們的祖宗亞伯拉罕未受割禮而信之蹤跡去行的人。

原來在基督耶穌裏，受割禮不受割禮全無功效，惟獨使人生發仁愛的信心才有功效。

那時，耶和華吩咐約書亞說：「你製造火石刀，第二次給以色列人行割禮。」約書亞就製造了火石刀，在「除皮山」那裏給以色列人行割禮。約書亞行割禮的緣故，是因為從埃及出來的眾民，就是一切能打仗的男丁，出了埃及以後，都死在曠野的路上。因為出來的眾民都受過割禮；惟獨出埃及以後、在曠野的路上所生的眾民都沒有受過割禮。以色列人在曠野走了四十年，等到國民，就是出埃及的兵丁，都消滅了，因為他們沒有聽從耶和華的話。耶和華曾向他們起誓，必不容他們看見耶和華向他們列祖起誓、應許賜給我們的地，就是流奶與蜜之地。他們的子孫，就是耶和華所興起來接續他們的，都沒有受過割禮；因為在路上沒有給他們行割禮，約書亞這才給他們行了。國民都受完了割禮，就住在營中自己的地方，等到痊癒了。耶和華對約書亞說：「我今日將埃及的羞辱從你們身上滾去了。」因此，那地方名叫吉甲，直到今日。
