其中一人曰、明年屆期、我必復至、爾妻撒拉將生子。撒拉在後、於幕門聞此。

耶和華顯現、謂以撒曰、毋往埃及、必居我所示之地、旅於斯土、我將佑爾、錫嘏於爾、以此列邦賜爾、爰及苗裔、昔與爾父亞伯拉罕誓、我踐其言、必繁衍爾苗裔、如天星之眾多、以此列邦錫之、天下兆民、將藉爾裔而受福。當亞伯拉罕之尚存也、遵我言詞、供我役事、守我禮儀、誡命、律法、故因是而錫嘏。○

故亞伯拉罕年雖耄耋、而撒拉懷妊、屆上帝所言之期、誕生男子。亞伯拉罕、以撒拉所生子、命名以撒、

若宗基督、則可謂亞伯拉罕裔、而為嗣子、享所許之福矣、

為旅於上帝許賜之地、猶在異邦、以撒雅各亦蒙上帝所許、與亞伯拉罕各居於幕、

如昔諭我祖、永念矜恤亞伯拉罕、爰及苗裔是也、○

願上帝藏我於墓寢、否則處我於隱僻、以俟災消禍弭、又不然、定以何日、然後釋我。

以色列攜凡所有、往至別是巴、獻祭於父以撒之上帝。

又曰、我乃爾祖之上帝、即亞伯拉罕之上帝、以撒之上帝、雅各之上帝、摩西蒙其面、不敢覲上帝。

為約瑟二子祝嘏、曰、昔我祖父亞伯拉罕以撒所崇事之上帝、我生及今牧我之上帝、

列祖其祖、基督其裔、此惟以身論基督耳、實則萬有之上、恆久可頌之上帝、夫上帝之言不廢、由以色列生者、不得盡為以色列人、

其所許之言云、屆期吾至、撒拉氏必生子、

上帝聞之、追念素與亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各所立之約、

矜恤我祖、念其聖命、

曰、父定之期日、爾非所當知也、

語亞伯拉罕曰、出婢及婢之子、婢之子不得與我子以撒嗣業。亞伯拉罕為子故、深以為憂。○上帝曰、勿為婢及婢之子而憂、可聽撒拉所言、蓋出自以撒者、得為爾裔。
