I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her.”

神又对他说：“我是全能的神；你要生养众多，将来有一国和许多的国从你而来，又有许多君王从你生出。

我必使你生养极其繁多；国度要从你而立，君王要从你而出。

我必使你成为大国，我必赐福给你，使你的名为大；你要使别人得福。

有一位说：“明年这时候，我一定会回到你这里。看哪，你的妻子撒拉会生一个儿子。”撒拉在那人后面的帐棚门口也听见了。亚伯拉罕和撒拉都年纪老迈，撒拉的月经已停了。撒拉心里窃笑，说：“我已衰老，我的主也老了，怎能有这喜事呢？”耶和华对亚伯拉罕说：“撒拉为什么窃笑，说：‘我已年老，果真能生育吗？’耶和华岂有难成的事吗？到了所定的时候，我必回到你这里。明年这时候，撒拉会生一个儿子。”

因为所应许的话是这样：“到明年这时候我要来，撒拉必会生一个儿子。”

就如撒拉听从亚伯拉罕，称他为主。你们只要行善，不怕任何恐吓，就成为撒拉的女儿了。

但另一妇人就是在上的耶路撒冷，是自由的，她是我们的母亲。因为经上记着：“不怀孕、不生养的，你要欢乐；未曾经过产难的，你要高声欢呼；因为没有丈夫的，比有丈夫的有更多的儿女。”弟兄们，你们是凭着应许作儿女的，如同以撒一样。当时，那按着肉体生的迫害了那按着圣灵生的，现在也是这样。然而经上是怎么说的呢？是说：“把使女和她儿子赶出去！因为使女的儿子绝不能与自由妇人的儿子一同承受产业。”弟兄们，这样看来，我们不是使女的儿女，而是自由妇人的儿女了。

神赐福给他们，神对他们说：“要生养众多，遍满这地，治理它；要管理海里的鱼、天空的鸟和地上各样活动的生物。”

他们就为利百加祝福，对她说：“我们的妹妹啊，愿你作千万人的母亲！愿你的后裔得着仇敌的城门！”

列王必作你的养父，王后必作你的乳母。他们必以脸伏地，向你下拜，并舔你脚上的尘土。你就知道我是耶和华，等候我的必不致羞愧。”
