I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her.”

天主又諭之曰、我乃全能之天主、使爾生育眾多、爾後裔必成一族、以至群族、列王皆由爾出、

我必使爾後裔蕃衍昌熾、成為邦國、列王必由爾出、

我將使爾成為大族、賜福於爾、使爾名揚、俾爾享厚福、

其中一人曰、明年屆期、我必復至、撒拉將生子、其人後有幕、撒拉在幕門聞之、亞伯拉罕與撒拉俱年邁、撒拉癸水已絕、撒拉竊哂云、我已衰矣、我主亦老、豈復有生子之樂乎、主謂亞伯拉罕曰、撒拉何哂云我已老、豈能生子、耶和華豈有不能行之事哉、屆期、我必復至、撒拉將生子、

所許之言云、屆期我至、而撒拉必生子、

即如撒拉順服亞伯拉罕、稱之為主、爾若行善而不畏難、則為撒拉之女矣、

惟在上之耶路撒冷為自主、乃我眾之母也、蓋經載云、爾不孕不生者、當喜樂、爾未劬勞者、當歡聲而呼、蓋被棄之婦、較有夫之婦、生子更多、兄弟乎、我儕如以撒、乃因應許而為子、昔循血氣而生者、窘逐循神而生者、今亦如是、然經何云、曰、逐婢及其子、蓋婢之子、不得與自主之婦之子、共嗣業焉、兄弟乎、我儕非婢之子、乃自主之婦之子也、

天主許之以福、謂之曰、生育眾多、充盈於地、地為爾所治、並治海魚飛鳥、及地上諸生物、

祝利百加曰、願我妹為億兆之母、爾之苗裔、獲敵之邑、邑原文作門

君王必為爾為養父、后妃必為爾為乳母、俯伏在地、拜於爾前、餂爾足塵、使爾知我乃主、凡仰望我者、不至羞愧、
