This is my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you, which you are to keep: Every one of your males must be circumcised.

This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised.

And so he gave Abraham the covenant of circumcision. After this, he fathered Isaac and circumcised him on the eighth day. Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob became the father of the twelve patriarchs.

Is this blessing only for the circumcised, then? Or is it also for the uncircumcised? For we say, Faith was credited to Abraham for righteousness.In what way, then, was it credited— while he was circumcised, or uncircumcised? It was not while he was circumcised, but uncircumcised.And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while still uncircumcised. This was to make him the father of all who believe but are not circumcised, so that righteousness may be credited to them also.

You were also circumcised in him with a circumcision not done with hands, by putting off the body of flesh, in the circumcision of Christ,when you were buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

“ This is why Moses has given you circumcision— not that it comes from Moses but from the fathers— and you circumcise a man on the Sabbath.

Was anyone already circumcised when he was called? He should not undo his circumcision. Was anyone called while uncircumcised? He should not get circumcised.Circumcision does not matter and uncircumcision does not matter. Keeping God’s commands is what matters.

For we are the circumcision, the ones who worship by the Spirit of God, boast in Christ Jesus, and do not put confidence in the flesh—

Circumcise yourselves to the LORD; remove the foreskin of your hearts, men of Judah and residents of Jerusalem. Otherwise, my wrath will break out like fire and burn with no one to extinguish it because of your evil deeds.

So, then, remember that at one time you were Gentiles in the flesh— called“ the uncircumcised” by those called“ the circumcised,” which is done in the flesh by human hands.

“‘ Look, the days are coming— this is the LORD’s declaration— when I will punish all the circumcised yet uncircumcised:Egypt, Judah, Edom, the Ammonites, Moab, and all the inhabitants of the desert who clip the hair on their temples. All these nations are uncircumcised, and the whole house of Israel is uncircumcised in heart.’”

This is the reason Joshua circumcised them: All the people who came out of Egypt who were males— all the men of war— had died in the wilderness along the way after they had come out of Egypt.

God presented him as the mercy seat by his blood, through faith, to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his restraint God passed over the sins previously committed.

Again I testify to every man who gets himself circumcised that he is obligated to do the entire law.You who are trying to be justified by the law are alienated from Christ; you have fallen from grace.For we eagerly await through the Spirit, by faith, the hope of righteousness.For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision accomplishes anything; what matters is faith working through love.

You must circumcise the flesh of your foreskin to serve as a sign of the covenant between me and you.

We will agree with you only on this condition: if all your males are circumcised as we are.

For a person is not a Jew who is one outwardly, and true circumcision is not something visible in the flesh.On the contrary, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is of the heart— by the Spirit, not the letter. That person’s praise is not from people but from God.So what advantage does the Jew have? Or what is the benefit of circumcision?

For we conclude that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

If an alien resides among you and wants to observe the LORD’s Passover, every male in his household must be circumcised, and then he may participate; he will become like a native of the land. But no uncircumcised person may eat it.

since there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith.

Those who want to make a good impression in the flesh are the ones who would compel you to be circumcised— but only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ.

At that time the LORD said to Joshua,“ Make flint knives and circumcise the Israelite men again.”

So Zipporah took a flint, cut off her son’s foreskin, threw it at Moses’s feet, and said,“ You are a bridegroom of blood to me!”

Therefore, circumcise your hearts and don’t be stiff-necked any longer.

There is no Jew or Greek, slave or free, male and female; since you are all one in Christ Jesus.

The LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the hearts of your descendants, and you will love him with all your heart and all your soul so that you will live.
