And he said, O Lord Jehovah, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?

曰、主耶和華歟、我承此地、何以知之、

But Abram said,“ Sovereign Lord, how can I know that I will gain possession of it?”

But Abram said,“ Lord and King, how can I know I will have this land as my own?”

But he said,“ O Lord God, how am I to know that I shall possess it?”

But Abram replied,“ O Sovereign Lord, how can I be sure that I will actually possess it?”

But he said,“ Lord GOD, how can I know that I will possess it?”

But he said,“ Lord God, how may I know that I will possess it?”

And he said,“ Lord GOD, how shall I know that I will inherit it?”

But he said,“ Lord God, how can I know that I will possess it?”

And he said, Lord GOD, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?

But Abram said,“ O sovereign LORD, by what can I know that I am to possess it?”

He said,“ Lord Yahweh, how will I know that I will inherit it?”

And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.

And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by my hand, as thou hast spoken,behold, I will put a fleece of wool on the threshing- floor; if there be dew on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the ground, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by my hand, as thou hast spoken.And it was so; for he rose up early on the morrow, and pressed the fleece together, and wrung the dew out of the fleece, a bowlful of water.And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be kindled against me, and I will speak but this once: let me make trial, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.

Show me a token for good, That they who hate me may see it, and be put to shame, Because thou, Jehovah, hast helped me, and comforted me.

And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that Jehovah will heal me, and that I shall go up unto the house of Jehovah the third day?

Ask thee a sign of Jehovah thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.

Behold, I am standing by the fountain of water; and the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water:and let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast showed kindness unto my master.

And he said, I will tarry until thou come again.And Gideon went in, and made ready a kid, and unleavened cakes of an ephah of meal: the flesh he put in a basket, and he put the broth in a pot, and brought it out unto him under the oak, and presented it.And the angel of God said unto him, Take the flesh and the unleavened cakes, and lay them upon this rock, and pour out the broth. And he did so.Then the angel of Jehovah put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there went up fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and the angel of Jehovah departed out of his sight.And Gideon saw that he was the angel of Jehovah; and Gideon said, Alas, O Lord Jehovah! forasmuch as I have seen the angel of Jehovah face to face.And Jehovah said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die.Then Gideon built an altar there unto Jehovah, and called it Jehovah- shalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

If they say thus unto us, Tarry until we come to you; then we will stand still in our place, and will not go up unto them.But if they say thus, Come up unto us; then we will go up; for Jehovah hath delivered them into our hand: and this shall be the sign unto us.
