Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said,“ To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built there an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

for all the land that you see I will give to you and to your offspring forever.

You found his heart faithful before you, and made with him the covenant to give to his offspring the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Jebusite, and the Girgashite. And you have kept your promise, for you are righteous.

Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses.From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun shall be your territory.

I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and will give to your offspring all these lands. And in your offspring all the nations of the earth shall be blessed,

Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours. Your territory shall be from the wilderness to the Lebanon and from the River, the river Euphrates, to the western sea.

The Lord, the God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house and from the land of my kindred, and who spoke to me and swore to me,‘ To your offspring I will give this land,’ he will send his angel before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there.

And the Lord said to him,“ This is the land of which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob,‘ I will give it to your offspring.’ I have let you see it with your eyes, but you shall not go over there.”

I will send my terror before you and will throw into confusion all the people against whom you shall come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.And I will send hornets before you, which shall drive out the Hivites, the Canaanites, and the Hittites from before you.I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the wild beasts multiply against you.Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased and possess the land.And I will set your border from the Red Sea to the Sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the Euphrates, for I will give the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you.

“ Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah,not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord.For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying,‘ Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”

And the border shall turn from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, and its limit shall be at the sea.

Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant,

Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the Euphrates to the land of the Philistines and to the border of Egypt. They brought tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.

Turn and take your journey, and go to the hill country of the Amorites and to all their neighbors in the Arabah, in the hill country and in the lowland and in the Negeb and by the seacoast, the land of the Canaanites, and Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates.See, I have set the land before you. Go in and take possession of the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to them and to their offspring after them.’

And he ruled over all the kings from the Euphrates to the land of the Philistines and to the border of Egypt.

“ When my angel goes before you and brings you to the Amorites and the Hittites and the Perizzites and the Canaanites, the Hivites and the Jebusites, and I blot them out,

“ For does not my house stand so with God? For he has made with me an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things and secure. For will he not cause to prosper all my help and my desire?

And behold, the Lord stood above it and said,“ I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. The land on which you lie I will give to you and to your offspring.Your offspring shall be like the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south, and in you and your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

When Abram was ninety-nine years old the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him,“ I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless,that I may make my covenant between me and you, and may multiply you greatly.”Then Abram fell on his face. And God said to him,“ Behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be the father of a multitude of nations.No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make you into nations, and kings shall come from you.And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you.And I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.”And God said to Abraham,“ As for you, you shall keep my covenant, you and your offspring after you throughout their generations.This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised.You shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and you.He who is eight days old among you shall be circumcised. Every male throughout your generations, whether born in your house or bought with your money from any foreigner who is not of your offspring,both he who is born in your house and he who is bought with your money, shall surely be circumcised. So shall my covenant be in your flesh an everlasting covenant.Any uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin shall be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant.”And God said to Abraham,“ As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall be her name.I will bless her, and moreover, I will give you a son by her. I will bless her, and she shall become nations; kings of peoples shall come from her.”Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed and said to himself,“ Shall a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?”And Abraham said to God,“ Oh that Ishmael might live before you!”God said,“ No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him.As for Ishmael, I have heard you; behold, I have blessed him and will make him fruitful and multiply him greatly. He shall father twelve princes, and I will make him into a great nation.But I will establish my covenant with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this time next year.”When he had finished talking with him, God went up from Abraham.Then Abraham took Ishmael his son and all those born in his house or bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham’s house, and he circumcised the flesh of their foreskins that very day, as God had said to him.Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.That very day Abraham and his son Ishmael were circumcised.And all the men of his house, those born in the house and those bought with money from a foreigner, were circumcised with him.

I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them. And I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me.

Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David.

In that day from the river Euphrates to the Brook of Egypt the Lord will thresh out the grain, and you will be gleaned one by one, O people of Israel.

saying,“ To you I will give the land of Canaan as your portion for an inheritance.”

“ Thus says the Lord: If you can break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night, so that day and night will not come at their appointed time,then also my covenant with David my servant may be broken, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne, and my covenant with the Levitical priests my ministers.As the host of heaven cannot be numbered and the sands of the sea cannot be measured, so I will multiply the offspring of David my servant, and the Levitical priests who minister to me.”The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah:“ Have you not observed that these people are saying,‘ The Lord has rejected the two clans that he chose’? Thus they have despised my people so that they are no longer a nation in their sight.Thus says the Lord: If I have not established my covenant with day and night and the fixed order of heaven and earth,then I will reject the offspring of Jacob and David my servant and will not choose one of his offspring to rule over the offspring of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will restore their fortunes and will have mercy on them.”

The second lot came out for Simeon, for the tribe of the people of Simeon, according to their clans, and their inheritance was in the midst of the inheritance of the people of Judah.And they had for their inheritance Beersheba, Sheba, Moladah,Hazar-shual, Balah, Ezem,Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah,Ziklag, Beth-marcaboth, Hazar-susah,Beth-lebaoth, and Sharuhen— thirteen cities with their villages;Ain, Rimmon, Ether, and Ashan— four cities with their villages,together with all the villages around these cities as far as Baalath-beer, Ramah of the Negeb. This was the inheritance of the tribe of the people of Simeon according to their clans.The inheritance of the people of Simeon formed part of the territory of the people of Judah. Because the portion of the people of Judah was too large for them, the people of Simeon obtained an inheritance in the midst of their inheritance.The third lot came up for the people of Zebulun, according to their clans. And the territory of their inheritance reached as far as Sarid.Then their boundary goes up westward and on to Mareal and touches Dabbesheth, then the brook that is east of Jokneam.From Sarid it goes in the other direction eastward toward the sunrise to the boundary of Chisloth-tabor. From there it goes to Daberath, then up to Japhia.From there it passes along on the east toward the sunrise to Gath-hepher, to Eth-kazin, and going on to Rimmon it bends toward Neah,then on the north the boundary turns about to Hannathon, and it ends at the Valley of Iphtahel;and Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem— twelve cities with their villages.This is the inheritance of the people of Zebulun, according to their clans— these cities with their villages.The fourth lot came out for Issachar, for the people of Issachar, according to their clans.Their territory included Jezreel, Chesulloth, Shunem,Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath,Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez,Remeth, En-gannim, En-haddah, Beth-pazzez.The boundary also touches Tabor, Shahazumah, and Beth-shemesh, and its boundary ends at the Jordan— sixteen cities with their villages.This is the inheritance of the tribe of the people of Issachar, according to their clans— the cities with their villages.The fifth lot came out for the tribe of the people of Asher according to their clans.Their territory included Helkath, Hali, Beten, Achshaph,Allammelech, Amad, and Mishal. On the west it touches Carmel and Shihor-libnath,then it turns eastward, it goes to Beth-dagon, and touches Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtahel northward to Beth-emek and Neiel. Then it continues in the north to Cabul,Ebron, Rehob, Hammon, Kanah, as far as Sidon the Great.Then the boundary turns to Ramah, reaching to the fortified city of Tyre. Then the boundary turns to Hosah, and it ends at the sea; Mahalab, Achzib,Ummah, Aphek and Rehob— twenty-two cities with their villages.This is the inheritance of the tribe of the people of Asher according to their clans— these cities with their villages.The sixth lot came out for the people of Naphtali, for the people of Naphtali, according to their clans.And their boundary ran from Heleph, from the oak in Zaanannim, and Adami-nekeb, and Jabneel, as far as Lakkum, and it ended at the Jordan.Then the boundary turns westward to Aznoth-tabor and goes from there to Hukkok, touching Zebulun at the south and Asher on the west and Judah on the east at the Jordan.The fortified cities are Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Chinnereth,Adamah, Ramah, Hazor,Kedesh, Edrei, En-hazor,Yiron, Migdal-el, Horem, Beth-anath, and Beth-shemesh— nineteen cities with their villages.

And Joseph said to his brothers,“ I am about to die, but God will visit you and bring you up out of this land to the land that he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.”

I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, the land in which they lived as sojourners.

May he give the blessing of Abraham to you and to your offspring with you, that you may take possession of the land of your sojournings that God gave to Abraham!”

“ Observe what I command you this day. Behold, I will drive out before you the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

He also lived to the east as far as the entrance of the desert this side of the Euphrates, because their livestock had multiplied in the land of Gilead.

and I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

To give a human example, brothers: even with a man-made covenant, no one annuls it or adds to it once it has been ratified.Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say,“ And to offsprings,” referring to many, but referring to one,“ And to your offspring,” who is Christ.This is what I mean: the law, which came 430 years afterward, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to make the promise void.

passes along to Azmon, goes out by the Brook of Egypt, and comes to its end at the sea. This shall be your south boundary.

And the name of the third river is the Tigris, which flows east of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him,“ Behold, I establish my covenant with you and your offspring after you,and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the livestock, and every beast of the earth with you, as many as came out of the ark; it is for every beast of the earth.I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.”And God said,“ This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations:I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds,I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh. And the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”God said to Noah,“ This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.”

“ When the Lord your God brings you into the land that you are entering to take possession of it, and clears away many nations before you, the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations more numerous and mightier than you,

Now these are the kings of the land whom the people of Israel defeated and took possession of their land beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise, from the Valley of the Arnon to Mount Hermon, with all the Arabah eastward:Sihon king of the Amorites who lived at Heshbon and ruled from Aroer, which is on the edge of the Valley of the Arnon, and from the middle of the valley as far as the river Jabbok, the boundary of the Ammonites, that is, half of Gilead,and the Arabah to the Sea of Chinneroth eastward, and in the direction of Beth-jeshimoth, to the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt Sea, southward to the foot of the slopes of Pisgah;and Og king of Bashan, one of the remnant of the Rephaim, who lived at Ashtaroth and at Edreiand ruled over Mount Hermon and Salecah and all Bashan to the boundary of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and over half of Gilead to the boundary of Sihon king of Heshbon.Moses, the servant of the Lord, and the people of Israel defeated them. And Moses the servant of the Lord gave their land for a possession to the Reubenites and the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh.And these are the kings of the land whom Joshua and the people of Israel defeated on the west side of the Jordan, from Baal-gad in the Valley of Lebanon to Mount Halak, that rises toward Seir( and Joshua gave their land to the tribes of Israel as a possession according to their allotments,in the hill country, in the lowland, in the Arabah, in the slopes, in the wilderness, and in the Negeb, the land of the Hittites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites):the king of Jericho, one; the king of Ai, which is beside Bethel, one;the king of Jerusalem, one; the king of Hebron, one;the king of Jarmuth, one; the king of Lachish, one;the king of Eglon, one; the king of Gezer, one;the king of Debir, one; the king of Geder, one;the king of Hormah, one; the king of Arad, one;the king of Libnah, one; the king of Adullam, one;the king of Makkedah, one; the king of Bethel, one;the king of Tappuah, one; the king of Hepher, one;the king of Aphek, one; the king of Lasharon, one;the king of Madon, one; the king of Hazor, one;the king of Shimron-meron, one; the king of Achshaph, one;

“ Command the people of Israel, and say to them, When you enter the land of Canaan( this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, the land of Canaan as defined by its borders),your south side shall be from the wilderness of Zin alongside Edom, and your southern border shall run from the end of the Salt Sea on the east.

David also defeated Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to restore his power at the river Euphrates.

The land that I gave to Abraham and Isaac I will give to you, and I will give the land to your offspring after you.”
