The Lord appeared to Abram and said,“ To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him. (niv)

All the land that you see I will give to you and your offspring forever. (niv)

You found his heart faithful to you, and you made a covenant with him to give to his descendants the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Jebusites and Girgashites. You have kept your promise because you are righteous. (niv)

I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates— all the Hittite country— to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. (niv)

I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and will give them all these lands, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, (niv)

Every place where you set your foot will be yours: Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the Euphrates River to the Mediterranean Sea. (niv)

“ The Lord, the God of heaven, who brought me out of my father’s household and my native land and who spoke to me and promised me on oath, saying,‘ To your offspring I will give this land’— he will send his angel before you so that you can get a wife for my son from there. (niv)

Then the Lord said to him,“ This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob when I said,‘ I will give it to your descendants.’ I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross over into it.” (niv)

“ I will send my terror ahead of you and throw into confusion every nation you encounter. I will make all your enemies turn their backs and run.I will send the hornet ahead of you to drive the Hivites, Canaanites and Hittites out of your way.But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals too numerous for you.Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land.“ I will establish your borders from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean Sea, and from the desert to the Euphrates River. I will give into your hands the people who live in the land, and you will drive them out before you. (niv)

“ The days are coming,” declares the Lord,“ when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah.It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them,” declares the Lord.“ This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord.“ I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another,‘ Know the Lord,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,” declares the Lord.“ For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” (niv)

Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, (niv)

And Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the Euphrates River to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. These countries brought tribute and were Solomon’s subjects all his life. (niv)

Break camp and advance into the hill country of the Amorites; go to all the neighboring peoples in the Arabah, in the mountains, in the western foothills, in the Negev and along the coast, to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, as far as the great river, the Euphrates.See, I have given you this land. Go in and take possession of the land the Lord swore he would give to your fathers— to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob— and to their descendants after them.” (niv)

He ruled over all the kings from the Euphrates River to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. (niv)

My angel will go ahead of you and bring you into the land of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites and Jebusites, and I will wipe them out. (niv)

“ If my house were not right with God, surely he would not have made with me an everlasting covenant, arranged and secured in every part; surely he would not bring to fruition my salvation and grant me my every desire. (niv)

There above it stood the Lord, and he said:“ I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying.Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. (niv)

When Abram was ninety- nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said,“ I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless.Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.”Abram fell facedown, and God said to him,“ As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations.No longer will you be called Abram; your name will be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations.I will make you very fruitful; I will make nations of you, and kings will come from you.I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.The whole land of Canaan, where you now reside as a foreigner, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God.”Then God said to Abraham,“ As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you for the generations to come.This is my covenant with you and your descendants after you, the covenant you are to keep: Every male among you shall be circumcised.You are to undergo circumcision, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and you.For the generations to come every male among you who is eight days old must be circumcised, including those born in your household or bought with money from a foreigner— those who are not your offspring.Whether born in your household or bought with your money, they must be circumcised. My covenant in your flesh is to be an everlasting covenant.Any uncircumcised male, who has not been circumcised in the flesh, will be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant.”God also said to Abraham,“ As for Sarai your wife, you are no longer to call her Sarai; her name will be Sarah.I will bless her and will surely give you a son by her. I will bless her so that she will be the mother of nations; kings of peoples will come from her.”Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself,“ Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?”And Abraham said to God,“ If only Ishmael might live under your blessing!”Then God said,“ Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation.But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year.”When he had finished speaking with Abraham, God went up from him.On that very day Abraham took his son Ishmael and all those born in his household or bought with his money, every male in his household, and circumcised them, as God told him.Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised,and his son Ishmael was thirteen;Abraham and his son Ishmael were both circumcised on that very day.And every male in Abraham’s household, including those born in his household or bought from a foreigner, was circumcised with him. I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me. (niv)

Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David. (niv)

In that day the Lord will thresh from the flowing Euphrates to the Wadi of Egypt, and you, Israel, will be gathered up one by one. (niv)

“ To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit.” (niv)

“ This is what the Lord says:‘ If you can break my covenant with the day and my covenant with the night, so that day and night no longer come at their appointed time,then my covenant with David my servant— and my covenant with the Levites who are priests ministering before me— can be broken and David will no longer have a descendant to reign on his throne.I will make the descendants of David my servant and the Levites who minister before me as countless as the stars in the sky and as measureless as the sand on the seashore.’”The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah:“ Have you not noticed that these people are saying,‘ The Lord has rejected the two kingdoms he chose’? So they despise my people and no longer regard them as a nation.This is what the Lord says:‘ If I have not made my covenant with day and night and established the laws of heaven and earth,then I will reject the descendants of Jacob and David my servant and will not choose one of his sons to rule over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. For I will restore their fortunes and have compassion on them.’” (niv)

The second lot came out for the tribe of Simeon according to its clans. Their inheritance lay within the territory of Judah.It included: Beersheba( or Sheba), Moladah,Hazar Shual, Balah, Ezem,Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah,Ziklag, Beth Markaboth, Hazar Susah,Beth Lebaoth and Sharuhen— thirteen towns and their villages;Ain, Rimmon, Ether and Ashan— four towns and their villages—and all the villages around these towns as far as Baalath Beer( Ramah in the Negev). This was the inheritance of the tribe of the Simeonites, according to its clans.The inheritance of the Simeonites was taken from the share of Judah, because Judah’s portion was more than they needed. So the Simeonites received their inheritance within the territory of Judah.The third lot came up for Zebulun according to its clans: The boundary of their inheritance went as far as Sarid.Going west it ran to Maralah, touched Dabbesheth, and extended to the ravine near Jokneam.It turned east from Sarid toward the sunrise to the territory of Kisloth Tabor and went on to Daberath and up to Japhia.Then it continued eastward to Gath Hepher and Eth Kazin; it came out at Rimmon and turned toward Neah.There the boundary went around on the north to Hannathon and ended at the Valley of Iphtah El.Included were Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah and Bethlehem. There were twelve towns and their villages.These towns and their villages were the inheritance of Zebulun, according to its clans.The fourth lot came out for Issachar according to its clans.Their territory included: Jezreel, Kesulloth, Shunem,Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath,Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez,Remeth, En Gannim, En Haddah and Beth Pazzez.The boundary touched Tabor, Shahazumah and Beth Shemesh, and ended at the Jordan. There were sixteen towns and their villages.These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Issachar, according to its clans.The fifth lot came out for the tribe of Asher according to its clans.Their territory included: Helkath, Hali, Beten, Akshaph,Allammelek, Amad and Mishal. On the west the boundary touched Carmel and Shihor Libnath.It then turned east toward Beth Dagon, touched Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtah El, and went north to Beth Emek and Neiel, passing Kabul on the left.It went to Abdon, Rehob, Hammon and Kanah, as far as Greater Sidon.The boundary then turned back toward Ramah and went to the fortified city of Tyre, turned toward Hosah and came out at the Mediterranean Sea in the region of Akzib,Ummah, Aphek and Rehob. There were twenty-two towns and their villages.These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Asher, according to its clans.The sixth lot came out for Naphtali according to its clans:Their boundary went from Heleph and the large tree in Zaanannim, passing Adami Nekeb and Jabneel to Lakkum and ending at the Jordan.The boundary ran west through Aznoth Tabor and came out at Hukkok. It touched Zebulun on the south, Asher on the west and the Jordan on the east.The fortified towns were Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Kinnereth,Adamah, Ramah, Hazor,Kedesh, Edrei, En Hazor,Iron, Migdal El, Horem, Beth Anath and Beth Shemesh. There were nineteen towns and their villages. (niv)

Then Joseph said to his brothers,“ I am about to die. But God will surely come to your aid and take you up out of this land to the land he promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” (niv)

I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, where they resided as foreigners. (niv)

May he give you and your descendants the blessing given to Abraham, so that you may take possession of the land where you now reside as a foreigner, the land God gave to Abraham.” (niv)

Obey what I command you today. I will drive out before you the Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. (niv)

To the east they occupied the land up to the edge of the desert that extends to the Euphrates River, because their livestock had increased in Gilead. (niv)

So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey— the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. (niv)

Brothers and sisters, let me take an example from everyday life. Just as no one can set aside or add to a human covenant that has been duly established, so it is in this case.The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say“ and to seeds,” meaning many people, but“ and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ.What I mean is this: The law, introduced 430 years later, does not set aside the covenant previously established by God and thus do away with the promise. (niv)

It then passed along to Azmon and joined the Wadi of Egypt, ending at the Mediterranean Sea. This is their southern boundary. (niv)

The name of the third river is the Tigris; it runs along the east side of Ashur. And the fourth river is the Euphrates. (niv)

Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him:“ I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after youand with every living creature that was with you— the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you— every living creature on earth.I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”And God said,“ This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”So God said to Noah,“ This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.” (niv)

When the Lord your God brings you into the land you are entering to possess and drives out before you many nations— the Hittites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, seven nations larger and stronger than you— (niv)

These are the kings of the land whom the Israelites had defeated and whose territory they took over east of the Jordan, from the Arnon Gorge to Mount Hermon, including all the eastern side of the Arabah:Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon. He ruled from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Gorge— from the middle of the gorge— to the Jabbok River, which is the border of the Ammonites. This included half of Gilead.He also ruled over the eastern Arabah from the Sea of Galilee to the Sea of the Arabah( that is, the Dead Sea), to Beth Jeshimoth, and then southward below the slopes of Pisgah.And the territory of Og king of Bashan, one of the last of the Rephaites, who reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei.He ruled over Mount Hermon, Salekah, all of Bashan to the border of the people of Geshur and Maakah, and half of Gilead to the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.Moses, the servant of the Lord, and the Israelites conquered them. And Moses the servant of the Lord gave their land to the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh to be their possession.Here is a list of the kings of the land that Joshua and the Israelites conquered on the west side of the Jordan, from Baal Gad in the Valley of Lebanon to Mount Halak, which rises toward Seir. Joshua gave their lands as an inheritance to the tribes of Israel according to their tribal divisions.The lands included the hill country, the western foothills, the Arabah, the mountain slopes, the wilderness and the Negev. These were the lands of the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. These were the kings:the king of Jericho one the king of Ai( near Bethel) onethe king of Jerusalem one the king of Hebron onethe king of Jarmuth one the king of Lachish onethe king of Eglon one the king of Gezer onethe king of Debir one the king of Geder onethe king of Hormah one the king of Arad onethe king of Libnah one the king of Adullam onethe king of Makkedah one the king of Bethel onethe king of Tappuah one the king of Hepher onethe king of Aphek one the king of Lasharon onethe king of Madon one the king of Hazor onethe king of Shimron Meron one the king of Akshaph one (niv)

“ Command the Israelites and say to them:‘ When you enter Canaan, the land that will be allotted to you as an inheritance is to have these boundaries:“‘ Your southern side will include some of the Desert of Zin along the border of Edom. Your southern boundary will start in the east from the southern end of the Dead Sea, (niv)

Moreover, David defeated Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah, when he went to restore his monument at the Euphrates River. (niv)

The land I gave to Abraham and Isaac I also give to you, and I will give this land to your descendants after you.” (niv)
