Then He said to Abram:“ Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years.

耶和华对亚伯兰说：“你要的确知道，你的后裔必寄居别人的地，又服侍那地的人；那地的人要苦待他们四百年。

耶和华对亚伯兰说：“你要确实知道，你的后裔必寄居在别人的地，服事那地的人；那地的人要虐待他们四百年。

耶和华对亚伯兰说：“你要确实知道，你的后裔必寄居在别人的地，服事那地的人；那地的人要虐待他们四百年。

耶和华对他说：“你要清楚知道，你的后裔必流落异乡，被奴役、虐待四百年。

耶和华对亚伯兰说：“你要确实地知道，你的后裔必在外地寄居，也必服事那地的人，那地的人苦待他们四百年。

耶和华对亚伯兰说：“你要确切知道：你的后裔将在不属于自己的地上寄居，并服事那地的人；那地的人将苦待他们四百年。

耶和華對亞伯蘭說：「你要的確知道，你的後裔必寄居別人的地，又服事那地的人；那地的人要苦待他們四百年。

耶和華對亞伯蘭說：「你要確實知道，你的後裔必寄居在別人的地，服事那地的人；那地的人要虐待他們四百年。

耶和華對亞伯蘭說：「你要確實知道，你的後裔必寄居在別人的地，服事那地的人；那地的人要虐待他們四百年。

耶和華對他說：「你要清楚知道，你的後裔必流落異鄉，被奴役、虐待四百年。

耶和華對亞伯蘭說：“你要確實地知道，你的後裔必在外地寄居，也必服事那地的人，那地的人苦待他們四百年。

永恆主對亞伯蘭說：『你要確實知道：你的後裔必寄居在一個不是自己之地的所在，必服事那地的人，那地的人必苦害他們四百年。

耶和華對亞伯蘭說：「你要確切知道：你的後裔將在不屬於自己的地上寄居，並服事那地的人；那地的人將苦待他們四百年。

耶和華諭之曰、爾當實知、汝裔必旅於異邦、服役良苦、歷四百年、

耶和華曰、爾當知爾苗裔必旅於異邦、服役良苦、歷四百年。

主諭亞伯蘭曰、爾當知爾後裔必旅於異邦、異邦人役之苦之、歷四百年、

Then the Lord said to him,“ Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there.

Then the Lord said to him,“ You can be sure of what I am about to tell you. For 400 years, your family who comes after you will be strangers in another country. They will become slaves there and will be treated badly.

Then the Lord said to Abram,“ Know for certain that your offspring will be sojourners in a land that is not theirs and will be servants there, and they will be afflicted for four hundred years.

Then the Lord said to Abram,“ You can be sure that your descendants will be strangers in a foreign land, where they will be oppressed as slaves for 400 years.

Then the LORD said to Abram,“ Know this for certain: Your offspring will be resident aliens for four hundred years in a land that does not belong to them and will be enslaved and oppressed.

Then God said to Abram,“ Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, where they will be enslaved and oppressed for four hundred years.

And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be sojourners in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;

Then the Lord said to Abram,“ Know this for certain: Your offspring will be foreigners in a land that does not belong to them; they will be enslaved and oppressed 400 years.

And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land[ that is] not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;

Then the LORD said to Abram,“ Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a foreign country. They will be enslaved and oppressed for four hundred years.

He said to Abram,“ Know for sure that your offspring will live as foreigners in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them. They will afflict them four hundred years.

But God spoke in this way: that his descendants would dwell in a foreign land, and that they would bring them into bondage and oppress them four hundred years.‘ And the nation to whom they will be in bondage I will judge,’ said God,‘ and after that they shall come out and serve Me in this place.’

And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect.

Therefore they set taskmasters over them to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh supply cities, Pithom and Raamses.

Now the sojourn of the children of Israel who lived in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years.And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years— on that very same day— it came to pass that all the armies of the Lord went out from the land of Egypt.

“ But when the time of the promise drew near which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt

Now these are the names of the children of Israel who came to Egypt; each man and his household came with Jacob:Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah;

The stranger who dwells among you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

Afterward Moses and Aaron went in and told Pharaoh,“ Thus says the Lord God of Israel:‘ Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.’”And Pharaoh said,“ Who is the Lord, that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the Lord, nor will I let Israel go.”So they said,“ The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Please, let us go three days’ journey into the desert and sacrifice to the Lord our God, lest He fall upon us with pestilence or with the sword.”Then the king of Egypt said to them,“ Moses and Aaron, why do you take the people from their work? Get back to your labor.”And Pharaoh said,“ Look, the people of the land are many now, and you make them rest from their labor!”So the same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters of the people and their officers, saying,“ You shall no longer give the people straw to make brick as before. Let them go and gather straw for themselves.And you shall lay on them the quota of bricks which they made before. You shall not reduce it. For they are idle; therefore they cry out, saying,‘ Let us go and sacrifice to our God.’Let more work be laid on the men, that they may labor in it, and let them not regard false words.”And the taskmasters of the people and their officers went out and spoke to the people, saying,“ Thus says Pharaoh:‘ I will not give you straw.Go, get yourselves straw where you can find it; yet none of your work will be reduced.’”So the people were scattered abroad throughout all the land of Egypt to gather stubble instead of straw.And the taskmasters forced them to hurry, saying,“ Fulfill your work, your daily quota, as when there was straw.”Also the officers of the children of Israel, whom Pharaoh’s taskmasters had set over them, were beaten and were asked,“ Why have you not fulfilled your task in making brick both yesterday and today, as before?”Then the officers of the children of Israel came and cried out to Pharaoh, saying,“ Why are you dealing thus with your servants?There is no straw given to your servants, and they say to us,‘ Make brick!’ And indeed your servants are beaten, but the fault is in your own people.”But he said,“ You are idle! Idle! Therefore you say,‘ Let us go and sacrifice to the Lord.’Therefore go now and work; for no straw shall be given you, yet you shall deliver the quota of bricks.”And the officers of the children of Israel saw that they were in trouble after it was said,“ You shall not reduce any bricks from your daily quota.”Then, as they came out from Pharaoh, they met Moses and Aaron who stood there to meet them.And they said to them,“ Let the Lord look on you and judge, because you have made us abhorrent in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us.”So Moses returned to the Lord and said,“ Lord, why have You brought trouble on this people? Why is it You have sent me?For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people; neither have You delivered Your people at all.”

Therefore love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

“ You shall neither mistreat a stranger nor oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”

Israel also came into Egypt, And Jacob dwelt in the land of Ham.He increased His people greatly, And made them stronger than their enemies.He turned their heart to hate His people, To deal craftily with His servants.

“ Also you shall not oppress a stranger, for you know the heart of a stranger, because you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Saying,“ To you I will give the land of Canaan As the allotment of your inheritance,”When they were few in number, Indeed very few, and strangers in it.

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise;for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude— innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
