After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision:“ Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.”

Some time later, Abram had a vision. The Lord said to him,“ Abram, do not be afraid. I am like a shield to you. I am your very great reward.”

After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision:“ Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great.”

You are my hiding place and my shield; I wait for Your word.

Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will also help you, I will also uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord gives grace and glory; He withholds no good thing from those who walk with integrity.

And the Lord appeared to him the same night and said,“ I am the God of your father Abraham; Do not fear, for I am with you. I will bless you and multiply your descendants, For the sake of My servant Abraham.”

“ The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,“ Therefore I wait for Him.”

Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said,“ I will never desert you, nor will I ever abandon you,”so that we confidently say,“ The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What will man do to me?”

Do not fear, you worm Jacob, you people of Israel; I will help you,” declares the Lord,“ and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my savior, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

“ There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, Who rides the heavens to your help, And the clouds in His majesty.The eternal God is a hiding place, And underneath are the everlasting arms; And He drove out the enemy from you, And said,‘ Destroy!’So Israel lives in security, The fountain of Jacob secluded, In a land of grain and new wine; His heavens also drip down dew.Blessed are you, Israel; Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, The shield of your help, And He who is the sword of your majesty! So your enemies will cringe before you, And you will trample on their high places.”

Do not be afraid, little flock, because your Father has chosen to give you the kingdom.

And the angel said to her,“ Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

But You, Lord, are a shield around me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head.

Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or in dread of them, for the Lord your God is the One who is going with you. He will not desert you or abandon you.”

May the Lord reward your work, and may your wages be full from the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”

But the angel said to him,“ Do not be afraid, Zechariah, for your prayer has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall name him John.

The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom should I fear? The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom should I dread?

For You bless the righteous person, Lord, You surround him with favor as with a shield.

In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a message was revealed to Daniel, who was named Belteshazzar; and the message was true and it concerned great conflict, but he understood the message and had an understanding of the vision.In those days, I, Daniel, had been mourning for three entire weeks.I did not eat any tasty food, nor did meat or wine enter my mouth, nor did I use any ointment at all until the entire three weeks were completed.On the twenty fourth day of the first month, while I was by the bank of the great river, that is, the Tigris,I raised my eyes and looked, and behold, there was a man dressed in linen, whose waist had a belt of pure gold of Uphaz.His body also was like topaz, his face had the appearance of lightning, his eyes were like flaming torches, his arms and feet like the gleam of polished bronze, and the sound of his words like the sound of a multitude.Now I, Daniel, alone saw the vision, while the men who were with me did not see the vision; nevertheless, a great fear fell on them, and they ran away to hide themselves.So I was left alone and saw this great vision; yet no strength was left in me, for my complexion turned to a deathly pallor, and I retained no strength.But I heard the sound of his words; and as soon as I heard the sound of his words, I fell into a deep sleep on my face, with my face to the ground.Then behold, a hand touched me and shook me on my hands and knees.And he said to me,“ Daniel, you who are treasured, understand the words that I am about to tell you and stand at your place, for I have now been sent to you.” And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood up trembling.Then he said to me,“ Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words.But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was standing in my way for twenty one days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia.Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the latter days, because the vision pertains to the days still future.”When he had spoken to me according to these words, I turned my face toward the ground and became speechless.And behold, one who resembled a human was touching my lips. Then I opened my mouth and spoke and said to him who was standing before me,“ My lord, due to the vision anguish has come upon me, and I have retained no strength.

But now, this is what the Lord says, He who is your Creator, Jacob, And He who formed you, Israel:“ Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!

And the Spirit lifted me up and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God to Chaldea, to the exiles. Then the vision that I had seen left me.

Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.

God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways,

( Previously in Israel, when a man went to inquire of God, he used to say,“ Come, and let’s go to the seer”; for he who is called a prophet now was previously called a seer.)

He said,“ Now hear My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, will make Myself known to him in a vision. I will speak with him in a dream.

Then David said to his son Solomon,“ Be strong and courageous, and act; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you until all the work for the service of the house of the Lord is finished.

And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying,“ Behold, the tabernacle of God is among the people, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”

Then He said to me,“ Son of man, go to the house of Israel and speak with My words to them.

When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying,“ Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last,

whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come; all things belong to you,

He* said to them,“ Why are you afraid, you men of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became perfectly calm.

A wicked person earns deceptive wages, But one who sows righteousness gets a true reward.

Do not fear, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east, And gather you from the west.

“ I, I Myself, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you are afraid of mortal man, And of a son of man who is made like grass,

But he became hungry and wanted to eat; but while they were making preparations, he fell into a trance;and he* saw the sky opened up, and an object like a great sheet coming down, lowered by four corners to the ground,and on it were all kinds of four footed animals and crawling creatures of the earth and birds of the sky.A voice came to him,“ Get up, Peter, kill and eat!”But Peter said,“ By no means, Lord, for I have never eaten anything unholy and unclean.”Again a voice came to him a second time,“ What God has cleansed, no longer consider unholy.”This happened three times, and immediately the object was taken up into the sky.Now while Peter was greatly perplexed in mind as to what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the men who had been sent by Cornelius had asked directions to Simon’s house, and they appeared at the gate;

Now it came about in the thirtieth year, on the fifth day of the fourth month, while I was by the river Chebar among the exiles, the heavens were opened and I saw visions of God.

And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.Are two sparrows not sold for an assarion? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.But even the hairs of your head are all counted.So do not fear; you are more valuable than a great number of sparrows.

See our shield, God, And look at the face of Your anointed.

He will cover you with His pinions, And under His wings you may take refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and wall.

But Moses said to the people,“ Do not fear! Stand by and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will perform for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you will never see them again, ever.

Say to those with anxious heart,“ Take courage, fear not. Behold, your God will come with vengeance; The retribution of God will come, But He will save you.”

This is what the Lord says, He who made you And formed you from the womb, who will help you:‘ Do not fear, Jacob My servant, And Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.

They said,“ Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and God fearing man well spoken of by the entire nation of the Jews, was divinely directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house and hear a message from you.”

Do not tremble and do not be afraid; Have I not long since announced it to you and declared it? And you are My witnesses. Is there any God besides Me, Or is there any other Rock? I know of none.’ ”

And the angel said to the women,“ Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified.
