你們行事為人不要愛錢財，要以現有的為滿足，因為神自己說過：「我絕不撇下你，也絕不離棄你。」

我在你們那裡有缺乏的時候，也沒有成為任何人的負擔，因為從馬其頓省來的弟兄們補足了我的缺乏。在一切事上我都留意，不讓自己成為你們的負擔，將來也會留意。我指著在我裡面基督的真理說，在亞該亞地區，誰也不能阻止我如此誇耀。為什麼呢？難道因為我不愛你們嗎？神是知道的！我現在所做的，將來還要做，為要斷絕那些人的機會——他們想找一個機會，好讓別人以為他們所誇耀的與我們一樣，

看哪，這是我第三次預備好到你們那裡去，而且我不會成為你們的負擔，因為我想要的不是你們的東西，而是你們自己。本來，不應該是兒女為父母積蓄財富，而是父母為兒女積蓄財富。
