Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High,

Melchizedek was the king of Jerusalem. He brought out bread and wine. He was the priest of the Most High God.

Yahweh has sworn, and will not change his mind:“ You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.”

where as a forerunner Jesus entered for us, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,to whom also Abraham divided a tenth part of all( being first, by interpretation,“ king of righteousness”, and then also“ king of Salem”, which means“ king of peace”,without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God), remains a priest continually.

As he says also in another place,“ You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.”

As they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks for it, and broke it. He gave to the disciples, and said,“ Take, eat; this is my body.”He took the cup, gave thanks, and gave to them, saying,“ All of you drink it,for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.But I tell you that I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on, until that day when I drink it anew with you in my Father’s Kingdom.”

Following Paul and us, she cried out,“ These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us a way of salvation!”

I will give thanks to Yahweh according to his righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of Yahweh Most High.

I cry out to God Most High, to God who accomplishes my requests for me.

His tabernacle is also in Salem; His dwelling place in Zion.

He said,“ You are blessed by Yahweh, my daughter. You have shown more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, because you didn’t follow young men, whether poor or rich.

How shall I come before Yahweh, and bow myself before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?

for he was yet in the body of his father when Melchizedek met him.Now if perfection was through the Levitical priesthood( for under it the people have received the law), what further need was there for another priest to arise after the order of Melchizedek, and not be called after the order of Aaron?For the priesthood being changed, there is of necessity a change made also in the law.For he of whom these things are said belongs to another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar.For it is evident that our Lord has sprung out of Judah, about which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood.This is yet more abundantly evident, if after the likeness of Melchizedek there arises another priest,who has been made, not after the law of a fleshly commandment, but after the power of an endless life;for it is testified,“ You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.”For there is an annulling of a foregoing commandment because of its weakness and uselessness( for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.Inasmuch as he was not made priest without the taking of an oath( for they indeed have been made priests without an oath), but he with an oath by him that says of him,“ The Lord swore and will not change his mind,‘ You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.’”By so much, Jesus has become the collateral of a better covenant.

However, the Most High doesn’t dwell in temples made with hands, as the prophet says,

So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.

Offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Pay your vows to the Most High.
