總而言之，你們大家都要心思一致，互相同情，相愛如弟兄，心存憐憫，滿有謙卑。不要以惡報惡，以辱罵還辱罵，反要祝福，因為你們是為此蒙召的，好使你們繼承祝福。要知道，「那願意愛惜生命、願意見到好日子的人，要停止舌頭出惡言，不讓嘴唇說詭詐的話；要遠離邪惡，要行美善，要尋求和睦，要竭力追求；因為主的眼睛看顧義人，主的耳朵垂聽他們的祈禱；但主的臉卻敵對作惡的人。」

如果有可能，盡量在你們的事上與所有的人和睦。

所以，你們彼此告狀，對你們已經是一個全然的失敗。你們為什麼不情願受委屈呢？為什麼不情願受虧負呢？

我要和平，我只要一說話，他們就要爭戰。

到底你們中間誰是有智慧、有見識的呢？他就應當藉著良好的品行，以智慧的溫柔，使自己的行為顯明出來；但如果你們心裡懷著苦毒的嫉妒和爭競，就不要自誇、說謊而抵擋真理。這種智慧不是從上面下來的，而是屬地的，屬血氣的，屬鬼魔的。要知道，哪裡有嫉妒和爭競，哪裡就有混亂和各樣的惡事。至於從上面來的智慧，首先是純潔的，然後是和平的、謙和的、溫順的，滿有憐憫和美好的果子的，是不偏私、不虛假的；並且義行的果子，是由那些締造和平的人，在和平中種下的。
