你们要尽力与大家和睦相处，并要追求圣洁的生活，因为不圣洁的人不能见主。

你们可以在我们这里安顿下来，这片土地就在你们面前，住在这里做买卖、置产业吧。”

又对他说：“我的国土就在你面前，你想住在哪里都可以。”

总而言之，你们要同心合意，互相关怀，彼此相爱，仁慈谦虚。不要以恶报恶，以辱骂还辱骂，反要祝福对方，这是你们蒙召的目的，好叫你们得到祝福。因为圣经上说：“若有人热爱生命，渴望幸福，就要舌头不出恶言，嘴唇不说诡诈的话。要弃恶行善，竭力追求和睦。因为主的眼睛看顾义人，祂的耳朵垂听他们的祈求。但主必严惩作恶之人。”

如果可能，总要尽力与人和睦相处。

你们互相指控，已经是很大的失败，为什么不能甘愿受欺负、吃点亏呢？

我爱和平，但我倡导和平的时候，他们却要战争。

你们当中谁是有智慧、有见识的呢？请他带着来自智慧的谦和，在善行上表现出来。但如果你们心怀苦毒的嫉妒和自私的野心，就不要自夸说有智慧，也不要违背真理去撒谎。这种智慧并非来自天上，而是从世俗、私欲和魔鬼来的。哪里有嫉妒和自私的野心，哪里就会有混乱和各样的恶事。但从天上来的智慧首先是纯洁，然后是爱好和平、温良柔顺、充满怜悯、多结善果、不存偏见、没有虚伪。使人和睦的人撒下和平的种子，必收获仁义的果实。
