So Abram said to Lot,“ Let’s not argue with each other. The people taking care of your herds and those taking care of mine shouldn’t argue with one another either. After all, we’re part of the same family.

Then Abram said to Lot,“ Let there be no strife between you and me, and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, for we are kinsmen.

Finally Abram said to Lot,“ Let’s not allow this conflict to come between us or our herdsmen. After all, we are close relatives!

But instead, one brother takes another to court— and this in front of unbelievers!The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?

How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!

The next day Moses came upon two Israelites who were fighting. He tried to reconcile them by saying,‘ Men, you are brothers; why do you want to hurt each other?’

This is the account of Terah’s family line. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran. And Haran became the father of Lot.While his father Terah was still alive, Haran died in Ur of the Chaldeans, in the land of his birth.Abram and Nahor both married. The name of Abram’s wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor’s wife was Milkah; she was the daughter of Haran, the father of both Milkah and Iskah.Now Sarai was childless because she was not able to conceive.Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they settled there.

We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death.Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence:

and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love.

Do everything without grumbling or arguing,

Then he sent his brothers away, and as they were leaving he said to them,“ Don’t quarrel on the way!”

Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness.Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble.But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them.

A hot- tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel.

Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.

The next day he went out and saw two Hebrews fighting. He asked the one in the wrong,“ Why are you hitting your fellow Hebrew?”

Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Now about your love for one another we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other.

Finally, all of you, be like- minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.

It is to one’s honor to avoid strife, but every fool is quick to quarrel.

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart.

Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.
