So Abram said to Lot,“ Let’s not argue with each other. The people taking care of your herds and those taking care of mine shouldn’t argue with one another either. After all, we’re part of the same family.

So Abram said to Lot,“ Let’s not have any quarreling between you and me, or between your herders and mine, for we are close relatives.

Then Abram said to Lot,“ Let there be no strife between you and me, and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, for we are kinsmen.

Finally Abram said to Lot,“ Let’s not allow this conflict to come between us or our herdsmen. After all, we are close relatives!

So Abram said to Lot,“ Please, let’s not have quarreling between you and me, or between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, since we are relatives.

So Abram said to Lot,“ Please let there be no strife between you and me, nor between my herdsmen and your herdsmen, for we are relatives!

Instead, one believer goes to court against another. And this happens in front of unbelievers!When you take another believer to court, you have lost the battle already. Why not be treated wrongly? Why not be cheated?

How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in peace!

The next day Moses saw two Israelites fighting. He tried to make peace between them.‘ Men, you are both Israelites,’ he said.‘ Why do you want to hurt each other?’

Here is the story of Terah’s family line. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran. And Haran became the father of Lot.Haran died in the city of Ur in Babylonia, the land where he was born. Haran died while his father Terah was still alive.Abram and Nahor both got married. The name of Abram’s wife was Sarai. The name of Nahor’s wife was Milkah, the daughter of Haran. Haran was the father of Milkah and Iscah.But Sarai wasn’t able to have children.Terah left Ur in Babylon. He took with him his son Abram and his grandson Lot, the son of Haran. Terah also took his daughter- in- law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram. All of them left together to go to Canaan. But when they came to Harran, they made their home there.

We know that we have left our old dead way of life. And we have entered into new life. We know this because we love one another. Anyone who doesn’t love still lives in their old condition.Anyone who hates their brother or sister is a murderer. And you know that no murderer has eternal life.We know what love is because Jesus Christ gave his life for us. So we should give our lives for our brothers and sisters.Suppose someone sees a brother or sister in need and is able to help them. And suppose that person doesn’t take pity on these needy people. Then how can the love of God be in that person?Dear children, don’t just talk about love. Put your love into action. Then it will truly be love.Here’s how we know that we hold to the truth. And here’s how we put our hearts at rest, knowing that God is watching.

To godliness, add kindness for one another. And to kindness for one another, add love.

Do everything without complaining or arguing.

Then Joseph sent his brothers away. As they were leaving he said to them,“ Don’t argue on the way!”

Suppose someone claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister. Then they are still in the darkness.Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light. There is nothing in them to make them fall into sin.But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness. They walk around in the darkness. They don’t know where they are going. The darkness has made them blind.

A person with a bad temper stirs up conflict. But a person who is patient calms things down.

Love one another deeply. Honor others more than yourselves.

The next day Moses went out again. He saw two Hebrew men fighting. He asked the one who had started the fight a question. He said,“ Why are you hitting another Hebrew man?”

Try your best to live in peace with everyone. Try hard to be holy. Without holiness no one will see the Lord.

A gentle answer turns anger away. But mean words stir up anger.

We don’t need to write to you about your love for one another. God himself has taught you to love one another.

Finally, I want all of you to agree with one another. Be understanding. Love one another. Be kind and tender. Be humble.

Avoiding a fight brings honor to a person. But every foolish person is quick to argue.

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is pure. That’s the most important thing about it. And that’s not all. It also loves peace. It thinks about others. It obeys. It is full of mercy and good fruit. It is fair. It doesn’t pretend to be what it is not.Those who make peace plant it like a seed. They will harvest a crop of right living.

Don’t be proud at all. Be completely gentle. Be patient. Put up with one another in love.The Holy Spirit makes you one in every way. So try your best to remain as one. Let peace keep you together.

Most of all, love one another deeply. Love erases many sins by forgiving them.

You have made yourselves pure by obeying the truth. So you have an honest and true love for each other. So love one another deeply, from your hearts.

Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.

Blessed are those who make peace. They will be called children of God.

Show proper respect to everyone. Love the family of believers. Have respect for God. Honor the emperor.
