你們在外邦人中，要有良好的品行；這樣，當他們誹謗你們是作惡之人的時候，因看到你們美好的行為，就在神臨到的日子榮耀神。

其實，我們從前也是無知、悖逆、被迷惑的，做各種欲望和享樂的奴僕，活在惡毒和嫉妒中，是可憎惡的，又彼此相恨。

同時，亞伯拉罕因亞比米勒的僕人們搶占了一口水井，指責了亞比米勒。

你們要把握機會，對外面的人靠智慧行事。

要知道，哪裡有嫉妒和爭競，哪裡就有混亂和各樣的惡事。

你們中間的衝突是從哪裡來的？爭執是從哪裡來的？難道不是從你們身體各部分中交戰的私慾而來的嗎？

雅各對西緬和利未說：「你們給我帶來了禍患，使我在這地的居民，就是在迦南人和比利洗人中間，有了臭名。我的人數稀少，如果他們聚集起來對付我、攻擊我，我和我家就會被除滅。」

因為你們仍然是屬肉體的。既然你們中間有嫉妒、紛爭和分裂，難道你們不就是屬肉體的，按人的意思來行事的嗎？

做任何事都不要抱怨或爭論，好使你們成為無可指責、純潔無偽的人，在這扭曲、敗壞的世代中，做神毫無瑕疵的兒女；在這世代中，要像星星的光輝一樣照耀在世上。

好使你們在外人面前能夠行事端正，不會有什麼缺乏。

拜偶像、行邪術、仇恨、紛爭、嫉恨、暴怒、爭競、分裂、結派、

就在那一天，耶和華與亞伯蘭立約，說：「我已經把這地賜給你的後裔，從埃及河直到幼發拉底大河，就是基尼人、基尼洗人、甲摩尼人、赫提人、比利洗人、利乏音人、亞摩利人、迦南人、革迦撒人、耶布斯人之地。」

迦南的邊界從西頓延伸到基拉耳，直到加沙；又延伸到所多瑪、格摩拉、押瑪、洗扁，直到拉沙。
