你们在外邦人中，要有良好的品行；这样，当他们诽谤你们是作恶之人的时候，因看到你们美好的行为，就在神临到的日子荣耀神。

其实，我们从前也是无知、悖逆、被迷惑的，做各种欲望和享乐的奴仆，活在恶毒和嫉妒中，是可憎恶的，又彼此相恨。

同时，亚伯拉罕因亚比米勒的仆人们抢占了一口水井，指责了亚比米勒。

你们要把握机会，对外面的人靠智慧行事。

要知道，哪里有嫉妒和争竞，哪里就有混乱和各样的恶事。

你们中间的冲突是从哪里来的？争执是从哪里来的？难道不是从你们身体各部分中交战的私欲而来的吗？

雅各对西缅和利未说：“你们给我带来了祸患，使我在这地的居民，就是在迦南人和比利洗人中间，有了臭名。我的人数稀少，如果他们聚集起来对付我、攻击我，我和我家就会被除灭。”

因为你们仍然是属肉体的。既然你们中间有嫉妒、纷争和分裂，难道你们不就是属肉体的，按人的意思来行事的吗？

做任何事都不要抱怨或争论，好使你们成为无可指责、纯洁无伪的人，在这扭曲、败坏的世代中，做神毫无瑕疵的儿女；在这世代中，要像星星的光辉一样照耀在世上。

好使你们在外人面前能够行事端正，不会有什么缺乏。

拜偶像、行邪术、仇恨、纷争、嫉恨、暴怒、争竞、分裂、结派、

就在那一天，耶和华与亚伯兰立约，说：“我已经把这地赐给你的后裔，从埃及河直到幼发拉底大河，就是基尼人、基尼洗人、甲摩尼人、赫提人、比利洗人、利乏音人、亚摩利人、迦南人、革迦撒人、耶布斯人之地。”

迦南的边界从西顿延伸到基拉耳，直到加沙；又延伸到所多玛、格摩拉、押玛、洗扁，直到拉沙。
