耶和华在幔利橡树那里向亚伯拉罕显现出来。那时正热，亚伯拉罕坐在帐棚门口，

耶和华向亚伯兰显现，说：“我要把这地赐给你的后裔。”亚伯兰就在那里为向他显现的耶和华筑了一座坛。从那里他又迁到伯特利东边的山，支搭帐棚；西边是伯特利，东边是艾。他在那里又为耶和华筑了一座坛，求告耶和华的名。

以色列说：“你去看看你哥哥们平安不平安，群羊平安不平安，就回来报信给我”；于是打发他出希伯仑谷，他就往示剑去了。

他们从南地上去，到了希伯仑；在那里有亚衲族人亚希幔、示筛、挞买。（原来希伯仑城被建造比埃及的琐安城早七年。）

我将耶和华常摆在我面前，因他在我右边，我便不致摇动。

撒拉死在迦南地的基列亚巴，就是希伯仑。亚伯拉罕为她哀恸哭号。

我愿男人无忿怒，无争论，举起圣洁的手，随处祷告；

于是约书亚为耶孚尼的儿子迦勒祝福，将希伯仑给他为业。
