Now the people of Sodom were wicked and were sinning greatly against the Lord.

The people of Sodom were evil. They were sinning greatly against the Lord.

Now the men of Sodom were wicked, great sinners against the Lord.

But the people of this area were extremely wicked and constantly sinned against the Lord.

( Now the men of Sodom were evil, sinning immensely against the LORD.)

and especially those who walk according to the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are presumptuous, self-willed. They are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries,

And the Lord said,“ Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave,

But go and learn what this means:‘ I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly;and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked( for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds)—

as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” says the Lord;“ Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord.

For Jerusalem stumbled, And Judah is fallen, Because their tongue and their doings Are against the Lord, To provoke the eyes of His glory.The look on their countenance witnesses against them, And they declare their sin as Sodom; They do not hide it. Woe to their soul! For they have brought evil upon themselves.

Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

“ Your elder sister is Samaria, who dwells with her daughters to the north of you; and your younger sister, who dwells to the south of you, is Sodom and her daughters.You did not walk in their ways nor act according to their abominations; but, as if that were too little, you became more corrupt than they in all your ways.“ As I live,” says the Lord God,“ neither your sister Sodom nor her daughters have done as you and your daughters have done.Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.And they were haughty and committed abomination before Me; therefore I took them away as I saw fit.

And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house.And they called to Lot and said to him,“ Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.”So Lot went out to them through the doorway, shut the door behind him,and said,“ Please, my brethren, do not do so wickedly!See now, I have two daughters who have not known a man; please, let me bring them out to you, and you may do to them as you wish; only do nothing to these men, since this is the reason they have come under the shadow of my roof.”And they said,“ Stand back!” Then they said,“ This one came in to stay here, and he keeps acting as a judge; now we will deal worse with you than with them.” So they pressed hard against the man Lot, and came near to break down the door.But the men reached out their hands and pulled Lot into the house with them, and shut the door.And they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they became weary trying to find the door.

He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; therefore it is said,“ Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.”

And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.”

Unless the Lord of hosts Had left to us a very small remnant, We would have become like Sodom, We would have been made like Gomorrah.

Now it happened, as Jesus sat at the table in the house, that behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples.

Now the Lord sent you on a mission, and said,‘ Go, and utterly destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.’

Also he made his son pass through the fire, practiced soothsaying, used witchcraft, and consulted spiritists and mediums. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger.

So they again called the man who was blind, and said to him,“ Give God the glory! We know that this Man is a sinner.”

But in the fourth generation they shall return here, for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet complete.”

Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him.

But Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the Lord, and the Lord killed him.

The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
