The Lord appeared to Abram and said,“ To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

The Lord appeared to Abram at Shechem. He said,“ I will give this land to your family who comes after you.” So Abram built an altar there to honor the Lord, who had appeared to him.

爾所旅者、即迦南一境、我將以之賜爾及爾苗裔、永為恆產、我亦為其上帝。○

亞伯蘭九十有九歲、時耶和華顯見、曰全能之上帝、我也、爾之所行、當合乎我、務無失德。

昔與亞伯拉罕立約、與以撒發誓兮、復於雅各家、以色列族中、重申其命、永著為例兮、詔曰、余以迦南、錫爾為業兮、當時人寡、其數無幾、為旅於斯土兮、

一日時已亭午、亞伯拉罕坐於幕門、其幕在慢哩橡下、耶和華顯現。

上帝所許亞伯拉罕及其裔、非指眾裔言之、乃指其裔一人、即基督也、

所見之地、我必賜爾、爰及苗裔、永世勿替、

耶和華謂摩西曰、昔我與亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各立誓、以產乳蜜之地錫其苗裔、爾既導斯民出埃及、必率之往彼、我將遣使於爾前、驅迦南人、亞摩哩人、赫人、比哩洗人、希未人耶布士人、爾族強項不馴、我不與之偕往、恐途中為我翦滅。

張幕築壇所、遂於彼籲耶和華名。

雅各名其地為便以利曰、我與上帝晤對、而覿其面、我命尚其可保。

後遷伯特利東山、以張其幕、西有伯特利、東有孩、在彼築壇、奉事耶和華、而籲其名。

出埃及之有眾、自二十歲以上者、既不竭忠從我、故所誓亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各之地必不能得、

以撒築壇於彼、籲耶和華名、遂張幕、僕為鑿井。○

亞伯蘭遂遷幕至希伯崙、近慢哩之橡而居、築墻祭耶和華。

此皆有信、雖至沒、不得所許之福、第遙望欣喜以晉接、自謂於世若賓旅、

汝當愛爾上帝耶和華、聽從其言、恆供役事、耶和華賜爾得生命、享遐齡。昔耶和華誓爾祖亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各、以斯土賜爾、爾可安居焉。

昔我誓以斯土與爾祖亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各、爰及苗裔、今地俱在爾前、可入而得之、○

耶和華據其巔曰、我乃爾祖亞伯拉罕與以撒之上帝耶和華、爾所寢之地、悉以賚爾、爰及苗裔。

兄弟乎、我儕亦猶以撒、得應許而為子、

亞伯蘭遂俯伏焉。上帝又曰。

昔爾上帝耶和華誓爾祖亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各、賜爾以地、在彼有邑、美而且廣、爾所未建者、

挪亞為耶和華築壇、取禽畜之潔者、燔而祭於壇。

於是偕行、至上帝所示之處、亞伯拉罕築壇、臚列其柴、縛子以撒、置於壇之柴上、

旅於斯土、我將佑爾、錫嘏於爾、以此列邦賜爾、爰及苗裔、昔與爾父亞伯拉罕誓、我踐其言、

昔我顯現於亞伯拉罕、以撒雅各、稱吾名為全能之上帝、未嘗稱吾名為耶和華。

是亞伯拉罕身生眾子、不得盡為上帝眾子、惟所許之眾子、可為裔明矣、

在彼築壇、稱其名上帝壇、即以色列之上帝。
