這二座山豈不是在約旦河的那邊，日落的方向，在住亞拉巴的迦南人之地，吉甲的前面，靠近摩利橡樹嗎？

他們就把手中所有外邦的神明和自己耳朵上的環子交給雅各；雅各把它們埋在示劍那裏的橡樹下。

因着信，他就在所應許之地作客，好像在異鄉，居住在帳棚裏，與蒙同一個應許的以撒和雅各一樣。

當時，迦南人與比利洗人在那地居住。亞伯蘭的牧人和羅得的牧人之間起了爭端。

耶路巴力，就是基甸，和所有跟隨他的人早晨起來，在哈律泉旁安營。米甸營在他北邊，靠近摩利岡的平原。

亞瓦底人、洗瑪利人、哈馬人，後來迦南的家族散開了。迦南的疆界是從西頓到基拉耳，直到迦薩，又到所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪、洗扁，直到拉沙。

於是到了撒瑪利亞的一座城，名叫敘加，靠近雅各給他兒子約瑟的那塊地。

雅各從巴旦‧亞蘭平安地回到迦南地的示劍城，他在城的前面支搭帳棚。

以色列人把從埃及所帶來約瑟的骸骨安葬在示劍，就是雅各從前用一百可錫塔向示劍的父親哈抹的眾子所買的那塊地；這塊地就成了約瑟子孫的產業。

耶路巴力的兒子亞比米勒到示劍他的母舅那裏，對他們和他外祖父全家的人說：

迦南生了長子西頓，又生赫

於是，以色列人劃分拿弗他利山區加利利的基低斯、以法蓮山區的示劍和猶大山區的基列‧亞巴，基列‧亞巴就是希伯崙。

羅波安往示劍去，因以色列眾人都到了示劍，要立他作王。

在那日，耶和華與亞伯蘭立約，說：「我已賜給你的後裔這一片地，從埃及河直到大河，幼發拉底河，就是基尼人、基尼洗人、甲摩尼人、赫人、比利洗人、利乏音人、亞摩利人、迦南人、革迦撒人、耶布斯人的地。」

那地的族長希未人哈抹的兒子示劍看見她，就拉住她，與她同寢，玷辱了她。

他們又被遷到示劍，葬於亞伯拉罕在示劍用銀子從哈抹子孫買來的墳墓裏。
