这二座山岂不是在约旦河的那边，日落的方向，在住亚拉巴的迦南人之地，吉甲的前面，靠近摩利橡树吗？

他们就把手中所有外邦的神明和自己耳朵上的环子交给雅各；雅各把它们埋在示剑那里的橡树下。

因着信，他就在所应许之地作客，好像在异乡，居住在帐棚里，与蒙同一个应许的以撒和雅各一样。

当时，迦南人与比利洗人在那地居住。亚伯兰的牧人和罗得的牧人之间起了争端。

耶路巴力，就是基甸，和所有跟随他的人早晨起来，在哈律泉旁安营。米甸营在他北边，靠近摩利冈的平原。

亚瓦底人、洗玛利人、哈马人，后来迦南的家族散开了。迦南的疆界是从西顿到基拉耳，直到迦萨，又到所多玛、蛾摩拉、押玛、洗扁，直到拉沙。

于是到了撒玛利亚的一座城，名叫叙加，靠近雅各给他儿子约瑟的那块地。

雅各从巴旦‧亚兰平安地回到迦南地的示剑城，他在城的前面支搭帐棚。

以色列人把从埃及所带来约瑟的骸骨安葬在示剑，就是雅各从前用一百可锡塔向示剑的父亲哈抹的众子所买的那块地；这块地就成了约瑟子孙的产业。

耶路巴力的儿子亚比米勒到示剑他的母舅那里，对他们和他外祖父全家的人说：

迦南生了长子西顿，又生赫

于是，以色列人划分拿弗他利山区加利利的基低斯、以法莲山区的示剑和犹大山区的基列‧亚巴，基列‧亚巴就是希伯仑。

罗波安往示剑去，因以色列众人都到了示剑，要立他作王。

在那日，耶和华与亚伯兰立约，说：“我已赐给你的后裔这一片地，从埃及河直到大河，幼发拉底河，就是基尼人、基尼洗人、甲摩尼人、赫人、比利洗人、利乏音人、亚摩利人、迦南人、革迦撒人、耶布斯人的地。”

那地的族长希未人哈抹的儿子示剑看见她，就拉住她，与她同寝，玷辱了她。

他们又被迁到示剑，葬于亚伯拉罕在示剑用银子从哈抹子孙买来的坟墓里。
