這二山豈不是在約旦河那邊，日落之處，在住亞拉巴的迦南人之地與吉甲相對，靠近摩利橡樹嗎？

他們就把外邦人的神像和他們耳朵上的環子交給雅各；雅各都藏在示劍那裏的橡樹底下。

他因着信，就在所應許之地作客，好像在異地居住帳棚，與那同蒙一個應許的以撒、雅各一樣。

當時，迦南人與比利洗人在那地居住。亞伯蘭的牧人和羅得的牧人相爭。

耶路‧巴力就是基甸，他和一切跟隨的人早晨起來，在哈律泉旁安營。米甸營在他們北邊的平原，靠近摩利岡。

亞瓦底人、洗瑪利人、哈馬人，後來迦南的諸族分散了。迦南的境界是從西頓向基拉耳的路上，直到迦薩，又向所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪、洗扁的路上，直到拉沙。

於是到了撒馬利亞的一座城，名叫敘加，靠近雅各給他兒子約瑟的那塊地。

雅各從巴旦‧亞蘭回來的時候，平平安安地到了迦南地的示劍城，在城東支搭帳棚，

以色列人從埃及所帶來約瑟的骸骨，葬埋在示劍，就是在雅各從前用一百塊銀子向示劍的父親、哈抹的子孫所買的那塊地裏；這就作了約瑟子孫的產業。

耶路‧巴力的兒子亞比米勒到了示劍見他的眾母舅，對他們和他外祖全家的人說：

迦南生長子西頓，又生赫

於是，以色列人在拿弗他利山地分定加利利的基低斯；在以法蓮山地分定示劍；在猶大山地分定基列‧亞巴（基列‧亞巴就是希伯崙）；

羅波安往示劍去；因為以色列人都到了示劍要立他作王。

當那日，耶和華與亞伯蘭立約，說：「我已賜給你的後裔，從埃及河直到幼發拉底大河之地，就是基尼人、基尼洗人、甲摩尼人、赫人、比利洗人、利乏音人、亞摩利人、迦南人、革迦撒人、耶布斯人之地。」

那地的主－希未人、哈抹的兒子示劍看見她，就拉住她，與她行淫，玷辱她。

又被帶到示劍，葬於亞伯拉罕在示劍用銀子從哈抹子孫買來的墳墓裏。
