这二山岂不是在约旦河那边，日落之处，在住亚拉巴的迦南人之地与吉甲相对，靠近摩利橡树吗？

他们就把外邦人的神像和他们耳朵上的环子交给雅各；雅各都藏在示剑那里的橡树底下。

他因着信，就在所应许之地作客，好像在异地居住帐棚，与那同蒙一个应许的以撒、雅各一样。

当时，迦南人与比利洗人在那地居住。亚伯兰的牧人和罗得的牧人相争。

耶路巴力就是基甸，他和一切跟随的人早晨起来，在哈律泉旁安营。米甸营在他们北边的平原，靠近摩利冈。

亚瓦底人、洗玛利人、哈马人，后来迦南的诸族分散了。迦南的境界是从西顿向基拉耳的路上，直到迦萨，又向所多玛、蛾摩拉、押玛、洗扁的路上，直到拉沙。

于是到了撒玛利亚的一座城，名叫叙加，靠近雅各给他儿子约瑟的那块地。

雅各从巴旦亚兰回来的时候，平平安安地到了迦南地的示剑城，在城东支搭帐棚，

以色列人从埃及所带来约瑟的骸骨，葬埋在示剑，就是在雅各从前用一百块银子向示剑的父亲、哈抹的子孙所买的那块地里；这就作了约瑟子孙的产业。

耶路巴力的儿子亚比米勒到了示剑见他的众母舅，对他们和他外祖全家的人说：

迦南生长子西顿，又生赫

于是，以色列人在拿弗他利山地分定加利利的基低斯；在以法莲山地分定示剑；在犹大山地分定基列亚巴（基列亚巴就是希伯仑）；

罗波安往示剑去；因为以色列人都到了示剑要立他作王。

当那日，耶和华与亚伯兰立约，说：“我已赐给你的后裔，从埃及河直到幼发拉底大河之地，就是基尼人、基尼洗人、甲摩尼人、赫人、比利洗人、利乏音人、亚摩利人、迦南人、革迦撒人、耶布斯人之地。”

那地的主希未人、哈抹的儿子示剑看见她，就拉住她，与她行淫，玷辱她。

又被带到示剑，葬于亚伯拉罕在示剑用银子从哈抹子孙买来的坟墓里。
