這兩座山不是在約旦河西、日落的地方，在住亞拉巴的迦南人之地，與吉甲相對，靠近摩利橡樹那裡嗎？

他們就把自己手中所有外族人的神像，和自己耳朵上的環子，都交給雅各；雅各把這些東西埋在示劍附近的橡樹底下。

因著信，他在應許之地寄居，好像是在異鄉，與承受同樣應許的以撒、雅各一樣住在帳棚裡。

牧養亞伯蘭牲畜的和牧養羅得牲畜的，起了紛爭；當時迦南人和比利洗人還住在那地。

耶路．巴力，就是基甸，和所有與他在一起的人，清早起來，在哈律泉旁安營；米甸營就在他們的北面，靠近摩利山岡的平原上。

亞瓦底人、洗瑪利人、哈馬人，後來迦南人的宗族分散了。迦南人的境界是從西頓伸向基拉耳，直到迦薩；又伸向所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪、洗扁，直到拉沙。

於是到了撒瑪利亞的一座城，名叫敘加；這城靠近雅各給他兒子約瑟的那塊地。

雅各從巴旦．亞蘭回來的時候，平平安安地到了迦南地的示劍城，在城的對面支搭了帳棚。

以色列人從埃及帶出來的約瑟骸骨，葬在示劍的一塊田裡；這塊田是雅各從前用一百塊銀子向示劍的父親哈抹的子孫那裡買來的；這塊田就成了約瑟子孫的產業。

耶路．巴力的兒子亞比米勒，到示劍去見他的眾母舅，對他們和他母親的全體族人說：

迦南生了長子西頓，又生赫，

於是以色列人在拿弗他利山地，把加利利的基低斯分別出來；在以法蓮山地，把示劍分別出來；在猶大山地，把基列．亞巴分別出來，基列．亞巴就是希伯崙；

羅波安往示劍去，因為以色列眾人都到了示劍，要立他作王。

就在那時候，耶和華與亞伯蘭立約說：“我已經把這地賜給你的後裔了，就是從埃及河直到幼發拉底河之地；就是基尼人、基尼洗人、甲摩尼人、赫人、比利洗人、利乏音人、亞摩利人、迦南人、革迦撒人、耶布斯人之地。”

當地的首長，希未人哈抹的兒子示劍，看見她，就拉住她，把她強姦，污辱了她。

運到示劍，埋葬在亞伯拉罕用銀子向哈抹子孫買來的墳地裡。
