你的後代必多如地上的塵沙，遍佈四方，地上萬族必因你和你的後代而蒙福。

聖經早就指明，上帝要叫外族人因信而被稱為義人，祂預先將福音傳給亞伯拉罕，說：「萬國必因你而蒙福。」

你們是先知的子孫，也承受了上帝和你們祖先所立的約。上帝曾對亞伯拉罕說，『天下萬族必因你的後裔而蒙福。』上帝興起祂的僕人，首先差遣祂到你們中間賜福給你們，使你們脫離罪惡。」

他們蹲伏如雄獅，躺臥如母獅，誰敢招惹？祝福他們的人有福了！咒詛他們的人有禍了！」

上帝曾向亞伯拉罕和他的後裔賜下應許，不過這裡沒有說「後裔們」——指許多人，而是說「你的後裔」——指一個人，就是基督。

亞伯拉罕必成為強盛的大國，世上萬國必因他而蒙福。

讚美我們主耶穌基督的父上帝！祂在基督裡賜給了我們天上各樣屬靈的恩福。

願他的名流芳百世，如日長存。願萬國都因他而蒙福，都稱頌他。

他後來受割禮只不過是一個記號，表明他在受割禮前已經因信而被稱為義人了。他因此成為一切未受割禮的信徒之父，使這些人也可以被算為義人。

我來以前，你的財產很少。上帝因為我的到來而賜福給你，使你財產大增。但我自己什麼時候才能興家立業呢？」

從此，不再分希臘人、猶太人，受割禮的、未受割禮的，野蠻人、未開化的人，奴隸和自由人，基督就是一切，並且貫穿一切。

從此不再分猶太人和希臘人，自由人和奴隸，男人和女人，因為你們都在基督耶穌裡合而為一了。
