埃及人看見你，一定會因為你是我的妻子而殺了我，讓你活著。

When the Egyptians see you, they will say,‘ This is his wife.’ Then they will kill me but will let you live.

亞伯拉罕回答說：「因為我想這裡的人不敬畏上帝，他們必為了奪我妻子而殺我。

那裡的人問起他的妻子時，他便說：「她是我妹妹。」他不敢說：「她是我妻子。」他擔心當地的人會因為利百加而害他，因為利百加長得非常美麗。

懼怕人的必自陷網羅，信靠耶和華的必安穩。

那些只能殺害身體，不能毀滅靈魂的人，不用怕他們。但要畏懼那位有權將身體和靈魂一同毀滅在地獄裡的上帝。

大衛心裡想：「終有一天，我會死在掃羅手裡，我最好逃到非利士人那裡。這樣，掃羅就不會在以色列到處追捕我了，我便可以逃離他的手。」

如果我們說自己沒有罪，便是自欺，真理就不在我們心中。如果我們承認自己的罪，上帝是信實公義的，必赦免我們的罪，洗淨我們一切的不義。我們如果說自己沒有犯過罪，就是把上帝看作說謊的，祂的道也不在我們心中。
