亞伯拉罕有信、遵上帝命、出故鄉、至後所得之地、當出時、不知所往、

曰、諸父兄弟聽之、昔我祖亞伯拉罕、在米所波大米、未居哈蘭時、榮光之上帝見、曰、出故土、離戚族、往我所示之地、乃離迦勒底、居哈蘭、父死後、徙至爾所居之地、當此之時、上帝未嘗以尺土賜之、然以此地許彼為業、爰及苗裔、時、亞伯拉罕尚未有子也、上帝曰、爾之苗裔、將旅於異地、彼以之為奴、困苦歷四百年、

約書亞告民曰、以色列族之上帝耶和華云、亙古爾祖亞伯拉罕及拿鶴之父他拉、居大河東、服事他上帝。我攜爾祖亞伯拉罕、自大河東、導入迦南、賜生子以撒、增其苗裔。

爾之祖父亞伯拉罕、祖母撒拉、爾祖被我遴選之時、孑然一身、後錫純嘏、寖昌寖熾。

上帝耶和華與、昔爾簡亞伯蘭、導出迦勒底之耳邑、錫名亞伯拉罕。

人就我而不過於愛父母、妻子、兄弟、姊妹、與己生命者、不得為我徒、不任十字架從我者、亦不得為我徒、爾曹孰有建塔、不先坐計其資、足以竣事乎、恐基而不成、眾見哂曰、此人作之於始、乃不能成之於終也、或有王出、與他王戰、非先坐而運籌、能以一萬敵來者二萬乎、不然、敵尚遠、將遣使求成矣、如是、爾曹不舍所有者、不得為我徒也、○

他拉挈其子亞伯蘭、及孫羅得、即哈蘭子、並其媳、即亞伯蘭妻撒勑、咸出迦勒底之耳邑、欲往迦南、至於哈蘭居焉。他拉享壽二百有五歲、終於哈蘭。

人子、以色列地荒墟、居民常言亞伯拉罕一人、能得斯土、我儕既眾、豈不能據而有之、

耶和華曰、我乃耶和華、昔攜爾出迦勒底之耳者、蓋欲以此地、賜爾得之。

自地極天涯、召之以至、曰、我簡爾為僕、不汝遐棄。

我又聞自天有聲云、吾民當出巴比倫、勿與其罪、遘其災、

主曰、爾出不潔者中、自為樹立、不近於彼、吾則納爾、

君夫人宜傾耳以聆、悉心以思兮、爾之鄉黨宗族、毋懸念兮、王悅爾容、為爾之主、爾當敬之兮。
