What do you have that you didn’t receive? If, in fact, you did receive it, why do you boast as if you hadn’t received it?

The Pharisee was standing and praying like this about himself:‘ God, I thank you that I’m not like other people— greedy, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

For even the circumcised don’t keep the law themselves, and yet they want you to be circumcised in order to boast about your flesh.
