人人都應該省察自己的行為，即使覺得有可誇之處，自己知道就好了，不必在別人面前炫耀。

你們要自我省察，看看自己是否真正信主，也要察驗自己。除非你們經不起察驗，否則，你們應該知道耶穌基督住在你們裡面。

我現在所做的，將來還會繼續做下去，為了要斷絕那些投機分子的機會，使他們無法吹噓自己的職分與我們一樣。其實這些人是假使徒，為人詭詐，冒充基督的使徒。

祂必殺我，我毫無指望，但我仍要在祂面前申辯。

我們感到自豪的是：我們本著上帝所賜的聖潔和誠實為人處世，倚靠祂的恩典，不倚靠人的聰明才智，對待你們更是這樣。這一點，我們的良心可以作證。

背棄正道，自食惡果；善人行善，必得善報。

我對你們或別人給我的評價毫不介意，我也不評價我自己。就算我今日問心無愧，也不能自以為義，因為評價我的是主。

所以，人要先自我省察，才可以吃這餅喝這杯。

耶和華啊，求你察驗我，試煉我，鑒察我的心思意念。

我的意思是你們有人說：「我是跟隨保羅的」，有人說：「我是跟隨亞波羅的」，有人說：「我是跟隨彼得的」，有人說：「我是跟隨基督的」。難道基督是分成幾派的嗎？替你們釘十字架的是保羅嗎？你們是奉保羅的名受洗的嗎？

因此，誰都不要仗著人誇耀，因為萬物都屬於你們，無論是保羅、亞波羅、彼得、世界、生命、死亡、現在的事或將來的事都屬於你們，你們屬於基督，基督屬於上帝。

弟兄姊妹，為了你們的益處，我以亞波羅和自己作例子，好讓你們效法我們不越過聖經的準則，免得有人自高自大、厚此薄彼。誰使你與眾不同呢？你有哪一樣不是領受的呢？既然一切都是領受的，你為什麼還自誇，好像不是領受的？

法利賽人站在那裡自言自語地禱告說，『上帝啊！我感謝你，因為我不像別人那樣勒索、不義、通姦，也不像這稅吏。

那些接受割禮的人自己也不能遵行律法。他們要你們接受割禮，無非是想藉著你們的肉體誇耀。
