Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also forgive others.And to all these virtues add love, which is the perfect bond.Let the peace of Christ be in control in your heart( for you were in fact called as one body to this peace), and be thankful.Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and exhorting one another with all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, all with grace in your hearts to God.And whatever you do in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Love is patient, love is kind, it is not envious. Love does not brag, it is not puffed up.It is not rude, it is not self- serving, it is not easily angered or resentful.It is not glad about injustice, but rejoices in the truth.It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

“ I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me– and I in him– bears much fruit, because apart from me you can accomplish nothing.

He takes away every branch that does not bear fruit in me. He prunes every branch that bears fruit so that it will bear more fruit.

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, accommodating, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial, and not hypocritical.And the fruit that consists of righteousness is planted in peace among those who make peace.

for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth–

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, rejoice!Let everyone see your gentleness. The Lord is near!Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God.And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy, think about these things.And what you learned and received and heard and saw in me, do these things. And the God of peace will be with you.

He is like a tree planted by flowing streams; it yields its fruit at the proper time, and its leaves never fall off. He succeeds in everything he attempts.

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that remains, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you.

So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you could be joined to another, to the one who was raised from the dead, to bear fruit to God.

You have purified your souls by obeying the truth in order to show sincere mutual love. So love one another earnestly from a pure heart.

Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been fathered by God and knows God.The person who does not love does not know God, because God is love.By this the love of God is revealed in us: that God has sent his one and only Son into the world so that we may live through him.In this is love: not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.Dear friends, if God so loved us, then we also ought to love one another.No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God resides in us, and his love is perfected in us.By this we know that we reside in God and he in us: in that he has given us of his Spirit.And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.If anyone confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God resides in him and he in God.And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has in us. God is love, and the one who resides in love resides in God, and God resides in him.

As for the seed that fell among thorns, these are the ones who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by the worries and riches and pleasures of life, and their fruit does not mature.But as for the seed that landed on good soil, these are the ones who, after hearing the word, cling to it with an honest and good heart, and bear fruit with steadfast endurance.

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith excellence, to excellence, knowledge;to knowledge, self- control; to self- control, perseverance; to perseverance, godliness;to godliness, brotherly affection; to brotherly affection, unselfish love.For if these things are really yours and are continually increasing, they will keep you from becoming ineffective and unproductive in your pursuit of knowing our Lord Jesus Christ more intimately.

“ Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is known by its fruit.

They bear fruit even when they are old; they are filled with vitality and have many leaves.

Love must be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil, cling to what is good.Be devoted to one another with mutual love, showing eagerness in honoring one another.Do not lag in zeal, be enthusiastic in spirit, serve the Lord.Rejoice in hope, endure in suffering, persist in prayer.Contribute to the needs of the saints, pursue hospitality.Bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse.Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly. Do not be conceited.Do not repay anyone evil for evil; consider what is good before all people.If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all people.

And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.

For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity to indulge your flesh, but through love serve one another.

But I say, live by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh.For the flesh has desires that are opposed to the Spirit, and the Spirit has desires that are opposed to the flesh, for these are in opposition to each other, so that you cannot do what you want.But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

You will recognize them by their fruit. Grapes are not gathered from thorns or figs from thistles, are they?In the same way, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.A good tree is not able to bear bad fruit, nor a bad tree to bear good fruit.Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.So then, you will recognize them by their fruit.

Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,through whom we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in the hope of God’s glory.Not only this, but we also rejoice in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,and endurance, character, and character, hope.And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Then if it bears fruit next year, very well, but if not, you can cut it down.’”

For even Christ did not please himself, but just as it is written,“ The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.”

But I myself am fully convinced about you, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, and able to instruct one another.

Older men are to be temperate, dignified, self- controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in endurance.Older women likewise are to exhibit behavior fitting for those who are holy, not slandering, not slaves to excessive drinking, but teaching what is good.In this way they will train the younger women to love their husbands, to love their children,to be self- controlled, pure, fulfilling their duties at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the message of God may not be discredited.Encourage younger men likewise to be self- controlled,showing yourself to be an example of good works in every way. In your teaching show integrity, dignity,and a sound message that cannot be criticized, so that any opponent will be at a loss, because he has nothing evil to say about us.Slaves are to be subject to their own masters in everything, to do what is wanted and not talk back,not pilfering, but showing all good faith, in order to bring credit to the teaching of God our Savior in everything.For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all people.It trains us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live self- controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,

Let no one look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in your speech, conduct, love, faithfulness, and purity.

Through Silvanus, whom I know to be a faithful brother, I have written to you briefly, in order to encourage you and testify that this is the true grace of God. Stand fast in it.

He died for us so that whether we are alert or asleep we will come to life together with him.Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, just as you are in fact doing.Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who labor among you and preside over you in the Lord and admonish you,and to esteem them most highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.And we urge you, brothers and sisters, admonish the undisciplined, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient toward all.See that no one pays back evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good for one another and for all.Always rejoice,constantly pray,in everything give thanks. For this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.Do not extinguish the Spirit.Do not treat prophecies with contempt.But examine all things; hold fast to what is good.Stay away from every form of evil.

because we recall in the presence of our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and endurance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.We know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you,in that our gospel did not come to you merely in words, but in power and in the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction( surely you recall the character we displayed when we came among you to help you).And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, when you received the message with joy that comes from the Holy Spirit, despite great affliction.As a result you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.For from you the message of the Lord has echoed forth not just in Macedonia and Achaia, but in every place reports of your faith in God have spread, so that we do not need to say anything.For people everywhere report how you welcomed us and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true Godand to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus our deliverer from the coming wrath.

But now, freed from sin and enslaved to God, you have your benefit leading to sanctification, and the end is eternal life.

O Ephraim, I do not want to have anything to do with idols anymore! I will answer him and care for him. I am like a luxuriant cypress tree; your fruitfulness comes from me!

Likewise also their wives must be dignified, not slanderous, temperate, faithful in every respect.

and that we may be delivered from perverse and evil people. For not all have faith.
