You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

My brothers and sisters, you were chosen to be free. But don’t use your freedom as an excuse to live under the power of sin. Instead, serve one another in love.

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.

For you were called to be free, brothers and sisters; only don’t use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.

For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

For ye, brethren, were called for freedom; only use not your freedom for an occasion to the flesh, but through love be servants one to another.

But take care that this freedom of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak.

Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those without strength, and not just please ourselves.Each of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to his edification.

For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement,“ You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

and subject yourselves to one another in the fear of Christ.

and after being freed from sin, you became slaves to righteousness.I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented the parts of your body as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, resulting in further lawlessness, so now present your body’s parts as slaves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification.For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in relation to righteousness.Therefore what benefit were you then deriving from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the outcome of those things is death.But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.

Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.

so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons and daughters.Because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying out,“ Abba! Father!”Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through God.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, Because the Lord anointed me To bring good news to the humble; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, To proclaim release to captives And freedom to prisoners;

Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant.It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered,it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;it keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by what anyone is overcome, by this he is enslaved.

If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food,and one of you says to them,“ Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?In the same way, faith also, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself.

For certain people have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into indecent behavior and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

In everything I showed you that by working hard in this way you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said,‘ It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond servants on account of Jesus.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

So if I, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.For I gave you an example, so that you also would do just as I did for you.

But these people disparage all the things that they do not understand; and all the things that they know by instinct, like unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed.Woe to them! For they have gone the way of Cain, and for pay they have given themselves up to the error of Balaam, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.These are the ones who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, like shepherds caring only for themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted;

But it is not this way among you; rather, whoever wants to become prominent among you shall be your servant;and whoever wants to be first among you shall be slave of all.For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and one by the free woman.But the son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, and the son by the free woman through the promise.This is speaking allegorically, for these women are two covenants: one coming from Mount Sinai giving birth to children who are to be slaves; she is Hagar.Now this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is enslaved with her children.But the Jerusalem above is free; she is our mother.For it is written:“ Rejoice, infertile one, you who do not give birth; Break forth and shout, you who are not in labor; For the children of the desolate one are more numerous Than those of the one who has a husband.”And you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise.But as at that time the son who was born according to the flesh persecuted the one who was born according to the Spirit, so it is even now.But what does the Scripture say?“ Drive out the slave woman and her son, For the son of the slave woman shall not be an heir with the son of the free woman.”So then, brothers and sisters, we are not children of a slave woman, but of the free woman.It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”They answered Him,“ We are Abraham’s descendants and have never been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say,‘ You will become free’?”Jesus answered them,“ Truly, truly I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.Now the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever.So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free.

I will most gladly spend and be expended for your souls. If I love you more, am I to be loved less?

constantly keeping in mind your work of faith and labor of love and perseverance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father,
