You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

My brothers and sisters, you were chosen to be free. But don’t use your freedom as an excuse to live under the power of sin. Instead, serve one another in love.

For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.

For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love.

For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

For ye, brethren, were called for freedom; only use not your freedom for an occasion to the flesh, but through love be servants one to another.

Submit as free people, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but as God’s slaves.

Although I am free from all and not anyone’s slave, I have made myself a slave to everyone, in order to win more people.

But be careful that this right of yours in no way becomes a stumbling block to the weak.

Now we who are strong have an obligation to bear the weaknesses of those without strength, and not to please ourselves.Each one of us is to please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.

For the whole law is fulfilled in one statement: Love your neighbor as yourself.

submitting to one another in the fear of Christ.

and having been set free from sin, you became enslaved to righteousness.I am using a human analogy because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you offered the parts of yourselves as slaves to impurity, and to greater and greater lawlessness, so now offer them as slaves to righteousness, which results in sanctification.For when you were slaves of sin, you were free with regard to righteousness.So what fruit was produced then from the things you are now ashamed of? The outcome of those things is death.But now, since you have been set free from sin and have become enslaved to God, you have your fruit, which results in sanctification— and the outcome is eternal life!

Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.And because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying,“ Abba, Father!”So you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then God has made you an heir.

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom to the prisoners;

Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant,is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs.Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth.It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

They promise them freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption, since people are enslaved to whatever defeats them.

If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily foodand one of you says to them,“ Go in peace, stay warm, and be well fed,” but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is it?In the same way faith, if it does not have works, is dead by itself.

For some people, who were designated for this judgment long ago, have come in by stealth; they are ungodly, turning the grace of our God into sensuality and denying Jesus Christ, our only Master and Lord.

In every way I’ve shown you that it is necessary to help the weak by laboring like this and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, because he said,‘ It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

For we are not proclaiming ourselves but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’s sake.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done for you.

But these people blaspheme anything they do not understand. And what they do understand by instinct— like irrational animals— by these things they are destroyed.Woe to them! For they have gone the way of Cain, have plunged into Balaam’s error for profit, and have perished in Korah’s rebellion.These people are dangerous reefs at your love feasts as they eat with you without reverence. They are shepherds who only look after themselves. They are waterless clouds carried along by winds; trees in late autumn— fruitless, twice dead and uprooted.

But it is not so among you. On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you will be your servant,and whoever wants to be first among you will be a slave to all.For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed,

For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by a slave and the other by a free woman.But the one by the slave was born as a result of the flesh, while the one by the free woman was born through promise.These things are being taken figuratively, for the women represent two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai and bears children into slavery— this is Hagar.Now Hagar represents Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children.But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother.For it is written, Rejoice, childless woman, unable to give birth. Burst into song and shout, you who are not in labor, for the children of the desolate woman will be many, more numerous than those of the woman who has a husband.Now you too, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise.But just as then the child born as a result of the flesh persecuted the one born as a result of the Spirit, so also now.But what does the Scripture say?“ Drive out the slave and her son, for the son of the slave will never be a coheir with the son of the free woman.”Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of a slave but of the free woman.For freedom, Christ set us free. Stand firm, then, and don’t submit again to a yoke of slavery.

You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”“ We are descendants of Abraham,” they answered him,“ and we have never been enslaved to anyone. How can you say,‘ You will become free’?”Jesus responded,“ Truly I tell you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin.A slave does not remain in the household forever, but a son does remain forever.So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free.

I will most gladly spend and be spent for you. If I love you more, am I to be loved less?

We recall, in the presence of our God and Father, your work produced by faith, your labor motivated by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.
