You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

and being made free from sin, ye became servants of righteousness.I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye presented your members as servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity, even so now present your members as servants to righteousness unto sanctification.For when ye were servants of sin, ye were free in regard of righteousness.What fruit then had ye at that time in the things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.But now being made free from sin and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end eternal life.

promising them liberty, while they themselves are bondservants of corruption; for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he also brought into bondage.

If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.For I have given you an example, that ye also should do as I have done to you.

But these rail at whatsoever things they know not: and what they understand naturally, like the creatures without reason, in these things are they destroyed.Woe unto them! for they went in the way of Cain, and ran riotously in the error of Balaam for hire, and perished in the gainsaying of Korah.These are they who are hidden rocks in your love- feasts when they feast with you, shepherds that without fear feed themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;

But it is not so among you: but whosoever would become great among you, shall be your minister;and whosoever would be first among you, shall be servant of all.For the Son of man also came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor: He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised,

For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, one by the handmaid, and one by the freewoman.Howbeit the son by the handmaid is born after the flesh; but the son by the freewoman is born through promise.Which things contain an allegory: for these women are two covenants; one from mount Sinai, bearing children unto bondage, which is Hagar.Now this Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia and answereth to the Jerusalem that now is: for she is in bondage with her children.But the Jerusalem that is above is free, which is our mother.For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; Break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: For more are the children of the desolate than of her that hath the husband.Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise.But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, so also it is now.Howbeit what saith the scripture? Cast out the handmaid and her son: for the son of the handmaid shall not inherit with the son of the freewoman.Wherefore, brethren, we are not children of a handmaid, but of the freewoman.For freedom did Christ set us free: stand fast therefore, and be not entangled again in a yoke of bondage.

and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.They answered unto him, We are Abraham’s seed, and have never yet been in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Every one that committeth sin is the bondservant of sin.And the bondservant abideth not in the house for ever: the son abideth for ever.If therefore the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

And I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If I love you more abundantly, am I loved the less?
