總之、爾如今不復為奴僕、而為兒女矣。既為兒女、則亦為天主之哲嗣也。

So you aren’t a slave any longer. You are God’s child. Because you are his child, God gives you the rights of those who are his children.

So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.Now if we are children, then we are heirs— heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

He who is the Portion of Jacob is not like these, for he is the Maker of all things, including Israel, the people of his inheritance— the Lord Almighty is his name.

Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

I say to myself,“ The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”

What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. “ This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the Lord.“ I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.The whole land of Canaan, where you now reside as a foreigner, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God.”

Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure.

Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children.
