那时，撒拉看见埃及人夏甲为亚伯拉罕所生的儿子戏笑，

弟兄们，我若仍旧传割礼，为什么还受迫害呢？若是这样，十字架绊倒人的地方就没有了。

你们若顺从肉体活着，必定会死；若靠着圣灵把身体的恶行处死，就必存活。

所以，我差遣先知、智慧人和文士到你们这里来，有的你们要杀害，要钉十字架；有的你们要在会堂里鞭打，从这城追逼到那城，如此，地上所有义人流的血都归到你们身上，从义人亚伯的血起，直到你们在圣所和祭坛中间所杀的巴拉加的儿子撒迦利亚的血为止。我实在告诉你们，这一切的罪都要归到这世代了。”“耶路撒冷啊，耶路撒冷啊，你常杀害先知，又用石头打死那奉差遣到你这里来的人。我多少次想聚集你的儿女，好像母鸡把小鸡聚集在翅膀底下，但是你们不愿意。

我爱你们，正如父爱我一样；你们要常在我的爱里。

耶稣回答：“我实实在在地告诉你，人若不是从水和圣灵生的，就不能进上帝的国。

弟兄们，你们与犹太地区上帝的各教会，就是在基督耶稣里的各教会，有同样的遭遇，因为你们也受了同胞的迫害，像他们受了犹太人的迫害一样。这些犹太人不但杀了主耶稣和先知们，又把我们赶出去。他们令上帝不悦，且与众人为敌，

一面在众人面前公然被毁谤，遭患难；一面陪伴那些受这样苦难的人。你们同情那些遭监禁的人，也欣然忍受你们的家业被人抢去，因为你们知道自己有更美好更长存的家业。

那使女所生的是按着肉体生的；那自由的妇人所生的是凭着应许生的。

如今，那些在基督耶稣里的人就不被定罪了。

那些想要炫耀外表的人才勉强你们受割礼，无非是怕自己为基督的十字架受迫害。他们那些受割礼的，连自己也不守律法；他们要你们受割礼，不过是要拿你们的肉体夸口。但我绝不以别的夸口，只夸我们主耶稣基督的十字架；因这十字架，就我而论，世界已经钉在十字架上；就世界而论，我已经钉在十字架上。
