撒拉看見埃及人夏甲給亞伯拉罕所生的兒子在嬉戲，

至於我呢、弟兄們，我若還在宣傳割禮，為甚麼還受逼迫呢？若是那樣，十字架之被看為信仰障礙不就早已除掉了麼！

因為你們若順着肉體而活，就必死；若順着靈治死你們身體上的行為，就必活。

故此我差遣神言人智慧人和經學士到你們這裏來；你看吧，有的你們要殺害，要釘十字架，有的你們要在你們的會堂裏鞭打，從這一個城追逼到那一個城；叫流在地上的義血都歸到你們身上，從義人亞伯的血起，直到巴拉加兒子撒迦利亞的血為止；他就是你們在殿堂和祭壇間所殺害的。我實在告訴你們、這一切罪責、都必歸到這世代來。『耶路撒冷啊，耶路撒冷，你常殺害神言人，扔石頭打死奉差遣到你裏面去的人。我多少次願意聚集你的兒女，彷彿母雞把自己的小雞聚集在翅膀底下，你們卻不願意！

父怎樣愛了我，我也怎樣愛了你們。你們要住在我的愛裏。

耶穌回答說：『我實實在在地告訴你，人若不是由水與靈生的，就不能進上帝的國。

因為弟兄們，你們也像在猶太地基督耶穌裏的上帝眾教會那樣了。因為你們在自己同國人手下所受的苦、也正如他們在猶太人手下所受過的一樣。那些猶太人不但殺害主耶穌和神言傳講師，並且驅逐我們；不但不使上帝喜歡，並且跟一切人作對，

有的人被嗤笑為戲劇而受辱罵遭苦難，有的人則跟着這樣作人的作為契友。你們同情於被捆鎖的人，又以喜樂的心接受你們資財之被勒索，知道自己有較好而長存的家業。

那出於使女的、是只按普通程序生的、而那出於自主婦人的、卻是憑着應許生的。

既然如此，如今那些在基督耶穌裏的就不被定罪了。

是那些想要在肉體上誇體面的、才勉強你們受割禮呢；這不過是要避免為基督的十字架受逼迫罷了。因為連那些受割禮的、他們自己也不嚴守律法，卻想要叫你們受割禮，好拿你們的肉體來誇口。至於我呢、我斷不拿別的來誇口，只誇我們主耶穌基督的十字架；藉着這十字架，就我而論、世界是釘了十字架了；就世界而論、我也釘了十字架了。
