当时，撒拉看见埃及人夏甲给亚伯拉罕所生的儿子戏笑，

弟兄们，我若仍旧传割礼，为什么还受逼迫呢？若是这样，那十字架讨厌的地方就没有了。

你们若顺从肉体活着，必要死；若靠着圣灵治死身体的恶行，必要活着。

所以我差遣先知和智慧人并文士到你们这里来，有的你们要杀害，要钉十字架；有的你们要在会堂里鞭打，从这城追逼到那城，叫世上所流义人的血都归到你们身上，从义人亚伯的血起，直到你们在殿和坛中间所杀的巴拉加的儿子撒迦利亚的血为止。我实在告诉你们，这一切的罪都要归到这世代了。”“耶路撒冷啊，耶路撒冷啊，你常杀害先知，又用石头打死那奉差遣到你这里来的人。我多次愿意聚集你的儿女，好像母鸡把小鸡聚集在翅膀底下，只是你们不愿意。

我爱你们，正如父爱我一样；你们要常在我的爱里。

耶稣说：“我实实在在地告诉你，人若不是从水和圣灵生的，就不能进神的国。

弟兄们，你们曾效法犹太中在基督耶稣里神的各教会；因为你们也受了本地人的苦害，像他们受了犹太人的苦害一样。这犹太人杀了主耶稣和先知，又把我们赶出去。他们不得神的喜悦，且与众人为敌，

一面被毁谤，遭患难，成了戏景，叫众人观看；一面陪伴那些受这样苦难的人。因为你们体恤了那些被捆锁的人，并且你们的家业被人抢去，也甘心忍受，知道自己有更美长存的家业。

然而，那使女所生的是按着血气生的；那自主之妇人所生的，是凭着应许生的。

如今，那些在基督耶稣里的就不定罪了。

凡希图外貌体面的人都勉强你们受割礼，无非是怕自己为基督的十字架受逼迫。他们那些受割礼的，连自己也不守律法；他们愿意你们受割礼，不过要藉着你们的肉体夸口。但我断不以别的夸口，只夸我们主耶稣基督的十字架；因这十字架，就我而论，世界已经钉在十字架上；就世界而论，我已经钉在十字架上。
