But you have come to Mount Zion, the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, to the assembly

But our citizenship is in heaven– and we also await a savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ,

The one who conquers I will make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will never depart from it. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God( the new Jerusalem that comes down out of heaven from my God), and my new name as well.

In the future the LORD’s Temple Mount will be the most important mountain of all; it will be more prominent than other hills. People will stream to it.Many nations will come, saying,“ Come on! Let’s go up to the LORD’s mountain, to the temple of Jacob’s God, so he can teach us his commands and we can live by his laws.” For Zion will be the source of instruction; the LORD’s teachings will proceed from Jerusalem.

And I saw the holy city– the new Jerusalem– descending out of heaven from God, made ready like a bride adorned for her husband.

But be happy and rejoice forevermore over what I am about to create! For look, I am ready to create Jerusalem to be a source of joy, and her people to be a source of happiness.

Be happy for Jerusalem and rejoice with her, all you who love her! Share in her great joy, all you who have mourned over her!

People say wonderful things about you, O city of God.( Selah)I mention Rahab and Babylon to my followers. Here are Philistia and Tyre, along with Ethiopia. It is said of them,“ This one was born there.”But it is said of Zion’s residents,“ Each one of these was born in her, and the sovereign One makes her secure.”The LORD writes in the census book of the nations,“ This one was born there.”( Selah)

You stumble day and night, and the false prophets stumble with you; You have destroyed your own people!

“ For the sake of Zion I will not be silent; for the sake of Jerusalem I will not be quiet, until her vindication shines brightly and her deliverance burns like a torch.”Nations will see your vindication, and all kings your splendor. You will be called by a new name that the LORD himself will give you.

and having been freed from sin, you became enslaved to righteousness.

In the future the mountain of the LORD’s temple will endure as the most important of mountains, and will be the most prominent of hills. All the nations will stream to it,many peoples will come and say,“ Come, let us go up to the LORD’s mountain, to the temple of the God of Jacob, so he can teach us his requirements, and we can follow his standards.” For Zion will be the center for moral instruction; the LORD will issue edicts from Jerusalem.

Oh, how I wish you were my little brother, nursing at my mother’s breasts; if I saw you outside, I could kiss you– surely no one would despise me!I would lead you and bring you to my mother’s house, the one who taught me. I would give you spiced wine to drink, the nectar of my pomegranates.

This is what the LORD says:“ Where is your mother’s divorce certificate by which I divorced her? Or to which of my creditors did I sell you? Look, you were sold because of your sins; because of your rebellious acts I divorced your mother.

For sin will have no mastery over you, because you are not under law but under grace.

Plead earnestly with your mother( for she is not my wife, and I am not her husband), so that she might put an end to her adulterous lifestyle, and turn away from her sexually immoral behavior.

You will be convinced that I the LORD am your God, dwelling on Zion, my holy mountain. Jerusalem will be holy– conquering armies will no longer pass through it.

So he took me away in the Spirit to a huge, majestic mountain and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.The city possesses the glory of God; its brilliance is like a precious jewel, like a stone of crystal- clear jasper.It has a massive, high wall with twelve gates, with twelve angels at the gates, and the names of the twelve tribes of the nation of Israel are written on the gates.There are three gates on the east side, three gates on the north side, three gates on the south side and three gates on the west side.The wall of the city has twelve foundations, and on them are the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.The angel who spoke to me had a golden measuring rod with which to measure the city and its foundation stones and wall.Now the city is laid out as a square, its length and width the same. He measured the city with the measuring rod at fourteen hundred miles( its length and width and height are equal).He also measured its wall, one hundred forty- four cubits according to human measurement, which is also the angel’s.The city’s wall is made of jasper and the city is pure gold, like transparent glass.The foundations of the city’s wall are decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation is jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald,the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.And the twelve gates are twelve pearls– each one of the gates is made from just one pearl! The main street of the city is pure gold, like transparent glass.Now I saw no temple in the city, because the Lord God– the All- Powerful– and the Lamb are its temple.The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, because the glory of God lights it up, and its lamp is the Lamb.The nations will walk by its light and the kings of the earth will bring their grandeur into it.Its gates will never be closed during the day( and there will be no night there).They will bring the grandeur and the wealth of the nations into it,but nothing ritually unclean will ever enter into it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or practices falsehood, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

So if the son sets you free, you will be really free.

For their mother has committed adultery; she who conceived them has acted shamefully. For she said,“ I will seek out my lovers; they are the ones who give me my bread and my water, my wool, my flax, my olive oil, and my wine.

For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman.

For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be subject again to the yoke of slavery.

In unison give a joyful shout, O ruins of Jerusalem! For the LORD consoles his people; he protects Jerusalem.

Live as free people, not using your freedom as a pretext for evil, but as God’s slaves.

On her forehead was written a name, a mystery:“ Babylon the Great, the Mother of prostitutes and of the detestable things of the earth.”
