爾願服律者其告我、爾不聞律乎、

爾欲服法、試言爾聽法乎、

爾欲服律法下者、且告我、爾不聽律法乎、

惟望爾明以示我爾既遵守律法、曷一諦審律法之精義乎。

Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says?

You who want to be under the authority of the law, tell me something. Don’t you know what the law says?

Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not listen to the law?

Tell me, you who want to live under the law, do you know what the law actually says?

Tell me, you who want to be under the law, don’t you hear the law?

Tell me, you who want to be under law, do you not listen to the Law?

Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law?

Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

Tell me, those of you who want to be under the law, don’t you hear the law?

For all who rely on doing the works of the law are under a curse, because it is written,“ Cursed is everyone who does not keep on doing everything written in the book of the law.”

Jesus answered them,“ You are deceived, because you don’t know the scriptures or the power of God.For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.Now as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God,‘ I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead but of the living!”

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world may be held accountable to God.

Now before faith came we were held in custody under the law, being kept as prisoners until the coming faith would be revealed.Thus the law had become our guardian until Christ, so that we could be declared righteous by faith.

If you believed Moses, you would believe me, because he wrote about me.But if you do not believe what Moses wrote, how will you believe my words?”

Jesus said to them,“ Have you never read in the scriptures:‘ The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?For this reason I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit.The one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, and the one on whom it falls will be crushed.”

For ignoring the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking instead to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.For Christ is the end of the law, with the result that there is righteousness for everyone who believes.For Moses writes about the righteousness that is by the law:“ The one who does these things will live by them.”But the righteousness that is by faith says:“ Do not say in your heart,‘ Who will ascend into heaven?’”( that is, to bring Christ down)or“ Who will descend into the abyss?”( that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).But what does it say?“ The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”( that is, the word of faith that we preach),because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.For with the heart one believes and thus has righteousness and with the mouth one confesses and thus has salvation.

But now that you have come to know God( or rather to be known by God), how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless basic forces? Do you want to be enslaved to them all over again?

What shall we say then?– that the Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness obtained it, that is, a righteousness that is by faith,but Israel even though pursuing a law of righteousness did not attain it.Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but( as if it were possible) by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone,

Jesus answered,“ Is it not written in your law,‘ I said, you are gods’?

Now this happened to fulfill the word that is written in their law,‘ They hated me without reason.’

For sin will have no mastery over you, because you are not under law but under grace.

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful desires, aroused by the law, were active in the members of our body to bear fruit for death.But now we have been released from the law, because we have died to what controlled us, so that we may serve in the new life of the Spirit and not under the old written code.

Then the crowd responded,“ We have heard from the law that the Christ will remain forever. How can you say,‘ The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”
