爾願服律者其告我、爾不聞律乎、

爾欲服法、試言爾聽法乎、

爾欲服律法下者、且告我、爾不聽律法乎、

惟望爾明以示我爾既遵守律法、曷一諦審律法之精義乎。

Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says?

You who want to be under the authority of the law, tell me something. Don’t you know what the law says?

Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not listen to the law?

Tell me, you who want to live under the law, do you know what the law actually says?

Tell me, you who want to be under the law, don’t you hear the law?

Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law?

Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

Tell me, those of you who want to be under the law, don’t you hear the law?

Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

Tell me, you who want to be under the law, do you not understand the law?

Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, don’t you listen to the law?

For all who are of works of the Law are under a curse; for it is written:“ Cursed is everyone who does not abide by all the things written in the book of the Law, to do them.”

But Jesus answered and said to them,“ You are mistaken, since you do not understand the Scriptures nor the power of God.For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.But regarding the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God:‘ I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God;

But before faith came, we were kept in custody under the Law, being confined for the faith that was destined to be revealed.Therefore the Law has become our guardian to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith.

For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me.But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”

Jesus* said to them,“ Did you never read in the Scriptures,‘ A stone which the builders rejected, This has become the chief cornerstone; This came about from the Lord, And it is marvelous in our eyes’?Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing its fruit.And the one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; and on whomever it falls, it will crush him.”

For not knowing about God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.For Christ is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone who believes.For Moses writes of the righteousness that is based on the Law, that the person who performs them will live by them.But the righteousness based on faith speaks as follows:“ Do not say in your heart,‘ Who will go up into heaven?’( that is, to bring Christ down),or‘ Who will descend into the abyss?’( that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).”But what does it say?“ The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart”— that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how is it that you turn back again to the weak and worthless elementary principles, to which you want to be enslaved all over again?

What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, attained righteousness, but the righteousness that is by faith;however, Israel, pursuing a law of righteousness, did not arrive at that law.Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as though they could by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone,

Jesus answered them,“ Has it not been written in your Law:‘ I said, you are gods’?

But this has happened so that the word that is written in their Law will be fulfilled:‘ They hated Me for no reason.’

For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under the Law but under grace.

For while we were in the flesh, the sinful passions, which were brought to light by the Law, were at work in the parts of our body to bear fruit for death.But now we have been released from the Law, having died to that by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter.

The crowd then answered Him,“ We have heard from the Law that the Christ is to remain forever; and how is it that You say,‘ The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”
