爾願服律者其告我、爾不聞律乎、

爾欲服法、試言爾聽法乎、

爾欲服律法下者、且告我、爾不聽律法乎、

惟望爾明以示我爾既遵守律法、曷一諦審律法之精義乎。

Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says?

You who want to be under the authority of the law, tell me something. Don’t you know what the law says?

Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not listen to the law?

Tell me, you who want to live under the law, do you know what the law actually says?

Tell me, you who want to be under law, do you not listen to the Law?

Tell me, you who desire to be under the law, do you not hear the law?

Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

Tell me, those of you who want to be under the law, don’t you hear the law?

Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?

Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, don’t you listen to the law?

For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, because it is written, Everyone who does not do everything written in the book of the law is cursed.

Jesus answered them,“ You are mistaken, because you don’t know the Scriptures or the power of God.For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage but are like angels in heaven.Now concerning the resurrection of the dead, haven’t you read what was spoken to you by God:I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”

Now we know that whatever the law says, it speaks to those who are subject to the law, so that every mouth may be shut and the whole world may become subject to God’s judgment.

Before this faith came, we were confined under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith was revealed.The law, then, was our guardian until Christ, so that we could be justified by faith.

For if you believed Moses, you would believe me, because he wrote about me.But if you don’t believe what he wrote, how will you believe my words?”

Jesus said to them,“ Have you never read in the Scriptures: The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is what the Lord has done and it is wonderful in our eyes?Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people producing its fruit.Whoever falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; but on whomever it falls, it will shatter him.”

Since they are ignorant of the righteousness of God and attempted to establish their own righteousness, they have not submitted to God’s righteousness.For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes,since Moses writes about the righteousness that is from the law: The one who does these things will live by them.But the righteousness that comes from faith speaks like this: Do not say in your heart,“ Who will go up to heaven?” that is, to bring Christ downor,“ Who will go down into the abyss?” that is, to bring Christ up from the dead.On the contrary, what does it say? The message is near you, in your mouth and in your heart. This is the message of faith that we proclaim:If you confess with your mouth,“ Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.One believes with the heart, resulting in righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, resulting in salvation.

But now, since you know God, or rather have become known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless elements? Do you want to be enslaved to them all over again?

What should we say then? Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained righteousness— namely the righteousness that comes from faith.But Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not achieved the righteousness of the law.Why is that? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone.

Jesus answered them,“ Isn’t it written in your law, I said, you are gods?

But this happened so that the statement written in their law might be fulfilled: They hated me for no reason.

For sin will not rule over you, because you are not under the law but under grace.

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions aroused through the law were working in us to bear fruit for death.But now we have been released from the law, since we have died to what held us, so that we may serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the old letter of the law.

Then the crowd replied to him,“ We have heard from the law that the Messiah will remain forever. So how can you say,‘ The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”
