你们知道我头一次传福音给你们，是因为身体有疾病。

尚憶初次為爾講述福音時、微軀患恙、不堪顦顇、

As you know, it was because of an illness that I first preached the gospel to you,

Remember when I first preached the good news to you? Remember I did that because I was sick.

You know it was because of a bodily ailment that I preached the gospel to you at first,

Surely you remember that I was sick when I first brought you the Good News.

you know that previously I preached the gospel to you because of a weakness of the flesh.

but you know that it was because of a bodily illness that I preached the gospel to you the first time;

You know that because of physical infirmity I preached the gospel to you at the first.

but ye know that because of an infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you the first time:

you know that previously I preached the gospel to you because of a physical illness.

Ye know how through infirmity of the flesh I preached the gospel unto you at the first.

But you know it was because of a physical illness that I first proclaimed the gospel to you,

but you know that because of weakness in the flesh I preached the Good News to you the first time.

I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. (niv)

or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.But he said to me,“ My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For some say,“ His letters are weighty and forceful, but in person he is unimpressive and his speaking amounts to nothing.” (niv)

I may indeed be untrained as a speaker, but I do have knowledge. We have made this perfectly clear to you in every way. (niv)

If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness. (niv)

I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— (niv)

For to be sure, he was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by God’s power. Likewise, we are weak in him, yet by God’s power we will live with him in our dealing with you. (niv)
